Drizzle Ice Cream — Restaurant in Greater Strathcona

Went to drizzle earlier today and honestly it was such an amazing experience!. To start off with, the exterior of the building was absolutely stunning! With a comfortable outside seating deck packed with plants and cute little lights to light up the whole place. The menu itself was crazy expansive! They had coffees, lemonades and milkshakes made with super popular brands like Reese’s and so on. The ice cream was honestly to die for! I got the Madagascar vanilla with a matcha dip in a cup. The size was huge, I couldn’t even finish it I had to share with my friends. The matcha itself was hardened just perfectly onto the ice cream and didn’t melt too easily at all even when walking in the summer heat under the bright sun. The vanilla flavour was perfect and the matcha had that perfect less sweet taste to help complement it. I also got the sour cherry lemonade which was super refreshing on a day like this. It tasted like I was eating straight up sour cherry candy but in drink format. Perfect for anyone who prefers a sweeter drink! On top of the products itself, the customer service at this place honestly surprised me. The cashier greeted us just as we walked in and was super friendly the whole time! He chatted with us, cracked jokes and helped me decide what to get since I honestly couldn’t pick from all the options. All in all super friendly and really kind as well! Alrighty so my boyfriend and I have been coming here semi regularly since last August and I keep meaning to write a review and keep forgetting to. The first time we were there we were helped by one of the owners and someone he seemed to be training, he seemed super cool while taking our order and told us a little about how he brought the shop over to the city, and we've kept coming back again and again. They used to have a larger selection of dips but limited other options and now the menu seems much more well rounded and equally as delicious. Their cones also used to be (in our opinion atleast) a little too thick, especially near the base. Every time we've recently visited though, that hasn't been a problem, the cones are crisp and just thick enough to hold the icecream, and are generally very tasty. Love it when a business always looks for ways to improve!!  From dipped cones to sundaes to waffles to milkshakes, we've tried many options and have enjoyed everything. Not only the icecream, the staff is delightful too. Last visit, the lady helping us asked us about our favorite flavors so far, and suggestions based on them, since a couple of the dips have changed since then. Today I went in to purchase some cream for myself and my mother. I paid for my order and left a $4 tip. The young man working was amazing, had excellent customer service skills and tried his best to ensure my dietary restrictions were accommodated. However, the two young women at the front were far from professional. I noticed one of food items I received was incorrect, when I mentioned this to the young woman with blondish hair she went into a fit of laughter and took the ice cream back to the other young woman (black hair) who also found this to be hilarious… I understand these are young teens however they should receive some training. Most employees would be apologetic. It’s clear that those two young women lack any type of professionalism or respect. I really regretted the tip I left, I did not feel welcomed nor respected. I will definitely not be returning to this establishment ever again. Please hire people who are able to display professionalism...
