Denny's Restaurant — Restaurant in Edmonton

I'm usually there between 11pm and 4am, I like the quiet atmosphere. But the service gets worse every time... and so did the food. At 2am with 4 customers... you'd think service would be good.. I spend about $40 when I go, always tip 5.. so it's not like I sit there for hours on a coffee.. refill for coffee.. pulling teeth..and OK.. nachos were great but last time I order a classic BLT fries and gravy. Every time with the bloody gravy.. it's chunky... probably not fresh or hot.. send it back.. please heat the gravy.. Comes back not even room temp.. send it back again..Luke warm this time.. Luke warm gravy with now cold fries.. fine..BLT.. love them.. not this one.. I took a picture of this sad sandwich.. 1 wilted small piece of lettuce and 2 paper thin... old wilted tomato slices.. for $16? Then to have the server argue with me.. but sir look at the menus.. it's called blt.. what's the problem .. um.. really? After explaining that I deserve fresh tomatoes and lettuce.. not this garbage.. I'm offered free side of bacon.. which never came... 10 minutes later finally get fresh vegetables for my now cold bacon, soggy bread meal.. ugh.. I'm not a picky guy.. but you tell me.. is this worth $16? I'm going to go to 711 and buy a $8pizza sub and nuke...

We went to this location on a Senior's Discount Thursday to nosh on our usual dinner favourites from the 55+ Menu: the 55+ Country-Fried Steak for me and the 55+ Turkey Dinner for my wife. For sides I took the garden salad, mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli, while my spouse took the soup, mashed potatoes and broccoli. We find these meals are tasty, very filling and sit well in our stomachs. (At this stage of life, not everything does sit well with our digestion, so we really appreciate the consistency of these items in that respect.) As usual we were very full at the end and did not need dessert. The items on the 55+ Menu are already priced very reasonably, but getting an additional 15% on Senior's Thursdays makes the savings even sweeter.

Sophie was our server. She was bubbly and personable, took our order perfectly and was attentive to our needs as we dined. We enjoyed her service and hope she can wait on our table again on future Thursday visits....

If I could give less than 1 ⭐, I would!!! This is mainly due to our waitress, Arlene. Took her 20 minutes to even bring a coffee after we had to wave her down! It was busy but not crazy. I mean it was a Monday. We were sat at a dirty table with a tray FULL of dishes and old food on one side of our table. Like ...what?? Stayed there and was STILL there when we left. Both of our orders were wrong. My omelette with egg whites and no peppers came as actual eggs and FILLED with peppers. Husband's meal (eggs Bennie) was served as just that....no hashbrowns, toast... nothing. All of which we had to fork out $62 for!!! We only got one coffee refill because we waved down a manager walking by. Sad. Didn't receive our OJ til we were almost finished our meal. Sat for 20 minutes waiting for our bill. Had to actually go up to the counter to ask for it. It was absolutely horrible and will never return....ever. We left a big zero for a tip so hopefully Arlene can get...
