Few things about this location. Even being the only car in drive through late at night, have to wait at another spot for 7-8 minutes for food to arrive, not sure if staffing issue or training issue. 1: Communication / Common Sense Some lack of common sense, probably from management in regards to asking to sell promotional items/etc. I'm a 20 something male with no kids in my car, common sense would tell you i don't want barbie themed utensils. Also, this wastes considerable time and increases drive through wait time exponentially. 2: Quality of Food / Attention to Detail The Large Fries that i ordered were only half full, weighing 156 grams. I called the location 15 minutes ago in order to improve their quality control of their establishment. I told them the issue and they said i can come back any time and require First Name and Phone Number. Again, back to common sense. Is someone really going to have the exact same name, same order and coming back to same location for the same complaint/problem? 3: Negligence I also realized i gave insulin for a full Large fries not a half large fries. So my glucose is dropping dramatically. I started my car in garage, but was unable to go on the night of incident as glucose dropped to 1.4mmol/L, due to accidental overdosage due to inadequate serving size of Large Fries. The serving size is allegedly 260g on the mcdonald's website, however i weighed what appears to be a full size of Mcdonalds Large Fries @190-191g. The insulin was also given 15 minutes prior to eating, in order to improve glycemic control and achieve a state of euglycaemia. However, there is no time to reverse it in this case, it was administered based upon duration taken to drive home, when i could eat. When i got home i noticed then that the large fries was approximately half full, and i just forgot the carbohydrate intake is too low and doesn't match the dosage of insulin given; partially because i was triggered and writing this review. Lesson to learn, don't trust fast food establishments or workers, as it may cost you your life. I learned to always assume the absolute worst in people, in fact it's much safer to do so. Definitely some negligence here. 4: Comparative Glucose Test I also did a Comparative Glucose Test, and did not suffer any additional hypoglycemic events after visiting a mcdonalds today. The only difference in my testing was eating a mcdouble vs Double Big Mac from last night. There is no nutritional info available for Large Fries actually, so inputted it as 50g, however glucose Delta value indicates it's higher than 50g, I suspect that it's likely closer to 60-75 carbs. On MyFitnessPal, it varies from 50-75g, so there is no source of accurate data available. 5: Quality of Fries The quality of the original fries was pretty bad, it was actually like 'wet' if that makes sense. The 2nd batch or 'fresh' fries they allegedly made, was of higher quality and was somewhat reminiscent of Wendy's Fries with Sea Salt, but worse quality. The 2nd batch wasn't horrible, but usually they taste better at other mcdonalds locations. 6: Resolution Will update on the resolution of receiving the full Large fries that i paid for. I arrived back to get my Large fries and was told to go to 2nd window, the first manager was pretty rude, even though i was calm and respectful the whole time. One of the fast food workers tried to hand me fries, but the same manager told her not to, but didn't explain the reason why, so i assumed it was malicious in order for me to wait longer. Again, communication issues present. She also never asked for my name or phone number, which is the identifiable information requested and collected. If you're going to create an identification system to refund orders or fix food orders, that is based upon collecting personal information, why wouldn't you ask for the information needed to identify the person, which must be uniquely done, well because each person is unique lol. The 2nd manager came and told me, they are making fresh batch of fries.

Let me just start this review off by saying I am not just another “Karen” that is spoiled beyond belief; I used to work at the 82nd ave McDonalds from the ages of 16-18, and also as a fellow previous immigrant, the way these employees do their job is rancid (p.s see pictures attached for how the 50th street McDonalds maintains their pop machine, ice is also made in this same machine, think about all the bacteria smh). Story time; I just want I got off work at 2:30 am and was craving some food before going to bed. I placed an online order through the mcdonalds app, I showed up and they told me they weren’t accepting next orders till breakfast (4am lol) this isn’t the first time this has happened. The service at this location is the absolute worst I have ever seem, Its crazy that all these negative reviews do nothing to change how poor their customer service is at this location. On the bright side there is another location that is 2km away on 82nd ave and 75th street that is more than happy to serve customers.

Spoiled, Curdled, Watery and liquor like taste milkshake, wasn’t sitting for no more then a minute. Hard to make feel nauseous/sick and have never cared to make a review anywhere but this is nasty and dancing the line of health code, it would be different if I opened up the lid and it looked normal and then tasted bad but it looks like someone mixed curdled milk with melted butter and left over frying oil. This couldn’t even pass for spoiled milk so whoever was running the machine and saw the watery and curdled chunk stream come out instead of anything close to “milkshake” consistency is either very slow or just chose to ignore the health code violation and hand it out. if I was able to see the state it was in the moment I took the lid off let alone smell then whoever dispensing it/using the machine all day would have had to notice it.

I wish I could give a zero-star rating to this Capilano McDonald’s because my recent visit was nothing short of appalling. I went in with a group of friends who are also first responders for a quick dinner, and what we witnessed was beyond unacceptable.

When we placed our order, the employee got it wrong to begin with by giving us a medium fries instead of the large that we ordered. What really blew our minds was her response—she casually took the medium fries off the tray with her bare hands and dumped them back into the fry bin! And then, with zero concern for hygiene, she reused those same fries to fill our large fry. Can you imagine the health risks involved? It was downright disgusting.

When we approached the manager to address this concerning behaviour, we were met with indifference. All she had to say was an apathetic, “Okay, thank you.” Rather than taking swift action, she went back to chatting on her personal cell phone, completely ignoring the gravity of the situation. This was not during peak hours, so there was no excuse for such a lack of customer service.

After slightly loudly voicing our intention to report this gross violation to food inspectors—and warning everyone around us that we’d raise hell over this—we noticed the employees suddenly looking terrified. Frankly, they should be scared. The way they handled our food was a clear indication of how they treat cleanliness and customer care.

In the end, we ended up dumping our food due to food contamination. No one should have to go through this kind of experience at a fast food restaurant, let alone one with a brand as well-known as McDonald's. As public awareness and safety, we will be reporting this incident to both McDonald’s Canada and health authorities. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location...

I ordered 10 pce nuggets with 3 sweet and sour sauce. Informed the drive thru attendant I was willing to pay for the third. She charged me .20 for it. No problem. When I got my order, I drove to work to eat on my break. When I opened the bag, I noticed I only got 6 nuggets in a 10 pce box . Whatever. Maybe cause they were closing soon they didn't want to make more? Could have just told me they only had enough for 6, instead of charging me for 10 and giving me only 6. Then they gave me 1 sweet and sour sauce and 2 BBQ sauce I wasted my break and returned to mcds to exchange the sauce for what I ordered. The same drive thru attendant switched only one of the BBQ . She stated I only get 2 with an order. I reminded her I paid for the extra one. she refused to give it to me !! You made me come back for your error and ripping me off and you're gonna argue with me over 1 sauce?? I told her I'd show her my receipt !! As I was holding up the line, she finally gave it to me . Is the nuggets sauce imported from the other side of the world? Needless to say, this isn't my first bad experience at this mcds, but it was the worst overall and I wont be back. I'm also telling everyone about my experience this time as its beyond ridiculous. Mgmnt at Capilano Mcds, you have to do better .

Update. Reported to Health and Safety board. Reading the reviews from past weeks even, I encourage everyone else...
