OPA! of Greece South Edmonton Common — Restaurant in Edmonton

Edit: I have changed my previous rating to a 5 because management/owner contacted me and was very concerned of the issue and noted that they will rectify this in house. I was probably a one time occurrence and I trust it won’t happen again. I appreciate management being diligent in working the errors, and the employee may just not have thought the cleaning through… after all he was being a good employee and cleaning the restaurant.

So I will start by saying the food is always awesome. However I can only give 2 stars because an employee started HEAVILY spraying a very chemical scented cleaner throughout the ENTIRE dining room while we were eating. It was so concentrated I immediately got a headache and my spouse who was still eating had to box it up and finish her meal at home. This was at 7:30pm either so it wasn’t closing time. Definitely unprofessional and while sanitary, not the right time to crop dust the entire dining room...

OPA! of Greece at South Edmonton Common serves up some delicious and authentic Greek food. The chicken and lamb souvlaki are flavorful, juicy, and perfectly grilled, and the pita bread is soft and fresh. Their tzatziki sauce is also a standout—creamy, tangy, and packed with flavor.

The staff is always friendly and quick, making the dining experience enjoyable. The restaurant has a casual, welcoming atmosphere, which makes it a great place to grab a quick meal or a casual lunch.

The only downside for me is that when I order their Greek salad, they only add two olives. I’ve asked to have more olives added, but unfortunately, they refuse to accommodate that request, which is a bit disappointing given how central olives are to the dish.

Overall, OPA! of Greece offers great Greek food and solid service, but I hope they’ll be more flexible with adding more olives to their salads...

We come here every Saturday and the staff always makes us feel welcome. As soon as we come in, they greet us, ask how we're doing. They even know us by name. We have been to other Opa locations in the city but this is our absolute favourite.

The food is delicious, service is fast and friendly and the prices are reasonable. 100/10 would recommend.

Edit: This location is under new management now, and although I miss the old employees, a few still remains. It is still one of our favourite places to go. The quality of food and service remains amazing. From the moment we walk through the door, they already begin preparing our order. It just hits different when the staff care enough to remember your order (especially which toppings I dislike or if I want onions...
