I normally love this restaurant and the family that runs them but this location is a horrible reflection of their business. I've left reviews praising the customer service and food of the Ellerslie and the (now closed) Sherwood Park locations. So it really disappoints me how bad this location is. When this location first opened the family was here and it was exactly what we've come to expect but now without them there it sucks.

First, the customer service you receive from the family was top notch, they'd remember my wife and I along with our orders. They'd regularly check on us. The restaurant was clean. We'd have small conversations with them. You didn't feel like a burden by being there. None of this applies to this location. We've had two awful experiences at this location back to back that has made us decide we're no longer going to this location.

Today we were sat in a booth that had crumbs all over the seats. It took quite long for our green onion cakes to come out. By the time they did they were cold and rubbery so it was clear they've been sitting for a while. When we got our meals my vermicelli bowl was cold, and was missing cucumbers and carrots. My wife's Pho was luke warm and the meat was cooked...overcooked even to the point that it seemed like deli roast beef. So again, pretty obvious it was old. Both of our dishes meats were super fatty and unappetizing.

Regularly the staff seem lost in their own world and it feels like your inconveniencing them by being there. They hangout at the counter when the tables are full and drinks are empty. They seem uncomfortable or nervous when they do have to talk to customers. Today they had country music cranked...I feel staunch noting that but I don't think I can think of a less fitting ambience for a Vietnamese restaurant.

From now on we're driving to the Ellerslie location instead of the 5mins it takes us to get...

we just moved to the area and looking for pho. We are busy family and and always end up going to pho for dinner at least once a week, our favorite pho place is now 25 mins drive so we tried the pho at 17 st which is close to our place, Upon entering the restaurant a bunch of kids server staring at us no greet no smile, kinda awkward feels like they are closing anytime and our presence is annoyance but it was just 7 pm. We are three adult and one kid. My kid ordered kids pho and i ordered grilled chicken rice with salad roll on the side instead of spring roll, the server said it cost extra bec the salad roll has different price i said sure no problem, as we get our order i noticed they didnt give me any peanut sauce for my salad roll which i said its fine to myself i didnt bother. We are done eating but my kid didnt finish hers the noodles soak up the broth and ask if we can take it to go and add a little bit of broth bec its dry and the server said it cost money! Would have been fine i will pay extra dollar for the cup of broth but the entire experience was unpleasant not to mention the fish sauce was poured in our table twice when they are serving...

Bad experience. Very bad customer service. Poor restaurant owner , they are losing customers because of their server. Food is good bad customer service creates bad impressions to the restaurant.

Was so hungry that I ended up entering this Pho restaurant at 17st.close to my place ,. I have my coffee on my hand and seated myself in one of the booth since there was nobody at the entrance to seat me ( no one in the counter either but there are 4 customers eating). When a server came out of the ( I believe a kitchen ) I called out , she handed us the menu and we ordered right away. She get the order and head back at the kitchen then she came back telling me and my company from the other side of the restaurant yelling , if next time we come back " we are not allowed to enter the restaurant " because of my coffee. I told her , we are not coming back next time . If only we haven't ordered yet and she told us before ordering , we could have left the restaurant early. Just feel bad for the owner if we leave without paying for the food and for sure the cook started cooking it already . I could have left my coffee in the car , but it will get cold , its...

Edit (2020): The quality of the broth has improved I have been to this location several times simply because it is close to home. The portions for a bowl of Pho are good; however, the soup broth has been questionable over several visits. In my most recent experience I felt like the broth was a bit light, almost tasteless, while during another experience my soup was actually quite bland tasting. The restaurant is nicely updated, better than some of the older family pho restaurants. The restaurant was clean overall, but I did not like their dishware and utensils (cheap, plastic, and overused). They appeared somewhat stained from being overused. For me, this place is okay if you're needing a quick Pho fix, but this definitely wouldn't be my first pick.

What a find! Discovered this establishment on a recommendation from a colleague and thrilled to say it lived up to the accolades! The staff were very friendly and answered all our questions. The food was prepared very quickly and so delicious. It appears to be a very popular place given the number of people and I certainly will be counting myself as a future repeat customer. If you're looking for great food, great service and great value, this is a place I'd highly recommend!

First time to eat here. I got a 5 combination vermicelli bowl. Honestly, I've had better at other locations in the city, considering this bowl was made fresh. For constructive criticism, I'd like to see more fish sauce provided (I should have asked for another small container) as this affected the overall taste experience. Maybe add another spring roll and shrimp to the fixings would be a great addition.
