I travel for work I eat at a lot of restaurants! 90% of the time restaurants at hotels are garbage. Usually they’re Boston pizzas, Kelsey’s chillies etc. the food is usually prepackaged heat and serve overpriced but Ricky’s diner has amazing food service portions, and prices! I had takeout that I brought to my room. The egg omelets are huge delicious all the vegetables were fresh. I had the ginger chicken rice bowl for dinner. It was amazing but the best meal had to have been the brunch platter. Three eggs three sausage 3 Pieces of bacon, two freshly made chicken fingers a waffle and hash brown. For $22 you could literally feed two people but aside from just the food the service is amazing my server Rowena she is the nicest lady, and one of the best servers I’ve had in a long time. She was attentive, but not interrupting my meals so much that it became annoying. She was sweet and very polite. She also made sure my coffee never got under a half cup. Being away from my family, especially on Valentine’s Day Rowena made my crappy day into a great morning. It was just so nice to have a polite, kind server, who actually seemed like the way she acted was genuine not just being nice for a tip. I will be returning to Ricky’s anytime I’m in the Edmonton area whether I’m staying at the...
Read moreI wanted something different other than Denny's so I asked Google for breakfast restaurants in Edmonton and this was the highest rated result.
I ordered the eggs benedict with the avocado and tomatoes but they brought me the wrong one. Tried to make it up by asking me if I wanted avocado halfway through my meal.
The cherry on top was when I asked for tea with honey. The honey the give you is Sunspun "Honey flavored spread"
Let me explain something...
People who opt to have honey in their tea are most likely trying to avoid eating refined sugar or anything garbage related. I would prefer to pay for real honey than to be given free honey flavored high fructose corn syrup.
On top of that, my meal was like $30 and pretty unimpressive. Denny's is way cheaper and has better quality food.
No I don't work for Denny's. I'm just saying how I feel! Lol
I don't recommend this restaurant. Sorry, not sorry 🤷🏾♂️
There has to be a breakfast place better than...
Read moreNot so quick breakfast. Got here by 9:25am for breakfast. Was not a busy day. Not full. Plenty empty spaces. They had only 2 people working the front though. Waited till 9:43 to be shown a table. 18 mins! After I was finally told to grab any of the tables on the left and said I wanted Coffee, had to wait till 10:08 to get the coffee. The first person forgot, the 2nd person brought it out. Took 25mins! Food then came at 10:18. 34mins from when I put in the order and almost an hour after I arrived. Just think timeliness could be improved. The food was okay. Had one of their breakfast specials. Portions are huge. Couldn’t finish it. Left a tip because it felt like the staff were overwhelmed but honestly for the amount of time I had to wait, I shouldn’t be tipping. I also didn’t like the fact that quite a number of people who came in after me had their drink and food orders come while I just waited. Don’t feel like I got the best...
