Tiffin India's Fresh Kitchen — Restaurant in Edmonton

I am a regular customer at this well maintained , well known East Indian restaurant by the name TIFFIN, It is located on 104st-Jasper Ave. My name is Nellie. They have a great variety of well done vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. These dishes are not only aromatic, delicious and kept warm. Their cooks, managers, servers are well trained, soft spoken, eager to serve their customers with their welcoming smiles .I went in today, September 13 to take out some of my favourite dishes, The young lady who served me is Gagan who was very polite, very helpful, very knowledgeable of all those well displayed items on their menu. I highly recommend Tiffin to anyone who enjoys vegetarian and non vegetarian freshly prepared dishes, these dishes are mouth watering and freshly made everyday. Provides a wide range of Indian food that is served quickly, so is a good place to grab a lunch. The problem is that it's food-court level food, toned down to cater to all palates, so very disappointing for any curry enthusiasts. On the bright side, it's one of the few South Asian restaurants that doesn't use ghee so more vegan and lactose/casein intolerant friendly than most curry houses. Relatedly, this is a good place for people who are unfamiliar with curry to try lots of different styles without being overwhelmed by spices.

Staff is polite and competent. The space is clean and industrial if you like that sort of thing. One thing to note is that the portions are large, so unless you have a big appetite, add a naan bread and spread the portion over two meals.

Despite my lackluster review, I keep going back, so revealed preferences indicate a better recommendation than 3*...

I love the food at Tiffin and usually order food to go but tonight a friend and I decided to eat in. We sat down in the dining area and my friend commented that he thought the table and area we sat did not look clean. Also the wall next to the table where we sat was scuffed and did not look clean either so we moved to another table by the window. When leaving and taking our trays to the area where the garbage was I noticed spilled and dried food surrounding the entry of the garbage bins. The restaurant was not busy and a couple young guys were working. As good as the food is its a turn off to see unclean tables and garbage area. I've been to the Windermere location and it's very clean. I think a little more attention by management at this location to ensure the staff are diligent in cleaning tables and garbage areas would make a huge difference...
