This is a letdown because I would often come here for baked goods and tea/coffee when I was a student and it was Ike's Cafe, and I liked this new concept for it, but the execution is just not good. To be totally fair, every time I've come here it's been on a Sunday which is probably their most off day so things are not as fresh as they might be at busier times, but I'm unimpressed. The bao are fluffy but the vegan bao had barely any filling and the custard in the custard bao was kind of separated. For dim sum, the veggie dumplings were dry around the edges and stuck together but the ha gow was good. The dim sum is apparently from Kam Wai which is obviously legit, but I think the dumplings were just cooked weirdly. The best thing I tried was the hoisin tofu bao (like a bao sandwich/taco) - the bottom was soaked with sauce but kept its structure. The Thai coconut latte was fine, but the black sesame latte didn't have a lot of black sesame, and it was mostly coarse pieces. They have baked goods from Pine House Bakery, which are alright. I do like the bubble tea (from Pearl Fever) - I've only gotten it with coconut jelly, so I don't know how their pearls are, but the drinks are definitely good. The service has been really questionable. There's one guy who works there who is really nice and seems to know what's going on, but the other staff is unenthusiastic and just seems clueless as to what they have. The location in IKB is very convenient (which is a big reason I keep giving them another try even though something's usually off) and there's lots of seating. It doesn't get too busy on the weekends, but even during the week when it's busier, I don't think I ever had trouble finding a table. The outdoor seating is very nice.

Convenient, but too expensive for students.

I was the only person in line, i ordered and had to clarify my friends drink order, the bubble was literally typing as I was ordering and the lady asked if the drink was iced or hot. I was like "One sec she's just clarifying through the text," and she audibly sighed and walked away. All throughout this order I said numerous times that I needed oat milk in the drink and she never verbally responded so I repeated "yes with oat milk" every time she went over the order and she rolled her eyes at me so I figured she heard and was annoyed I was repeating myself. As I see her make it she uses regular milk so I interjected and said " Oh shoot that was supposed to have oat milk," and she was upset with me and said she didn't hear me. I was just shocked by how...

Most of the staff here are friendly and I like the baked goods and salads. I've been picking up my morning coffee here as of late because the line usually moves quickly, but this morning I was charged $7.30 for a medium coffee. I went back to talk to a server (a different one from the one that charged me) and while they expressed concern by asking who had served me, the woman that served me didn't so much as apologize. I used to be a barista and I know that early morning shifts can throw you off sometimes, but I think that was quite rude. I wasn't offered a refund, but the other server told me that I can take some baked goods to even...
