Mercante's a very intimidating restaurant, it took me weeks to build up the courage to step inside alone. I'm almost positive it was designed specifically for aesthetic. You walk in, you wait in line by a rope that's way too close to the door (people are squished together there) and you order. The ladies taking the orders were exhausted and their patience was wearing thin by the time I got there at around 4. I ordered the margherita pizza and was planning on getting a drink but I was rushed away. I wouldn't even have grabbed my receipt if the chick in front of me hadn't forgotten to take hers. Anyways I was waiting for my order on the wrong side (how the hell is anyone supposed to know where to go?) and as they called out pizza orders, one by one the people who showed up after me got their pizzas long before I did. About 20 minutes later I got my pizza, only after the lady squished and folded my pizza to get it to fit in the box. I had to wait about 10 minutes before I could dig in but man, it was worth it. The first three slices (if you can call them that, they were poorly cut) were delicious. It's a very flimsy pizza but the crust is authentic Italian 👌🏼 I'm giving it a 3 overall because the service is intimidating, the set up is confusing, and while the pizza is delicious it's really gross once it's cold, which is within 20 minutes.
