"Unique" Japanese Dining Experience: Bones and Bad Attitudes

Just had the most "memorable" visit to a supposedly authentic Japanese restaurant in town, and let me tell you, it was quite an experience! 🍣🙄

If you're a fan of eel, I suggest you bring your own toolkit for removing bones because this place apparently believes in quantity over quality. 🐟😣 I've never encountered so many bone spurs in a single dish before, talk about a challenge!

The icing on the cake was the lovely attitude of the staff, especially the charming individual I suspect to be the owner. 🙄👎 If you're looking for that authentic Japanese politeness and hospitality, well, you won't find it here. They seemed more interested in asserting their authority than making guests feel welcome.

So, if you're in the mood for a unique dining experience that defies traditional Japanese standards, this is the spot for you! Otherwise, I'd suggest looking elsewhere if you want genuine quality and respectful service. Save yourself the disappointment and bone-picking...

Absolutely delicious! My "build-your-own" poke bowl was a full flavor explosion—fresh, high-quality sashimi-grade fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and a delicious mix of toppings like tamago bits, seaweed salad, and sweet corn. The sauces were perfectly balanced, adding just the right amount of umami and sweetness. Every bite was a delight! The presentation was beautiful, and I find the portion size to be adequate. You can really taste the care and authenticity that goes into each bowl.

I want to give a shoutout to Ayaka. I carelessly left my wallet in the restaurant and only found out the next day. Ayaka found my wallet and safe kept it for me until I came back to pick it up. I'm so grateful for her honesty and integrity.

I’ll definitely be coming back for more of these yummy poke bowls whenever I'm in the area.

I always order the BYO which has reasonable pricing and good portion. I have noticed their prices has gone up, and some topping are now w/ additional charge but that’s not surprising considering inflation has been devastating for everyone.
