Ordered two drinks, when confirming the green tea order the staff repeated back “taro” despite it being called “pearl” on the menu and the screen. I said no taro assuming it was something different in this case. Realized she meant pearl and asked for pearl yet again. Asked for slight sugar and was a very sweet drink but still enjoyed it. The other drink was a milk tea ordered with 50% sugar and was super bitter. We asked them if they could add sugar and instead of actually fixing the problem they just said it would make it watery. As a front of house staff in a restaurant you never send a customer away if they have a problem with the product. And finally, we brought the small and large cups back home, and upon inspecting them, they are almost the exact same volume of liquid. I’m really disappointed with my first experience at Sharetea UBC. I ordered a Mango Milk Tea and clearly asked for only 25% sweetness. What they failed to mention was that the mango they use is not fresh or light like most places it’s an artificial jam-like syrup that is extremely sweet by default.

When I took the first sip, it was shockingly sweet. I told the staff right away, but instead of offering a refund or even acknowledging the issue, they refused to help despite me telling them it was my first time there and I had asked them to guide me.

I even offered to buy another drink if they could refund just half of the first one. I didn’t even drink it literally not more than 3mm below the lid, which they could easily verify on their security camera.
