I visited this Tim Hortons location today during the lunch rush, which I understand is a stressful time for staff, but that doesn't warrant taking out your stress by insulting customers. I tried to use one of the self-service payment kiosks 3 times, but kept getting an endless processing loop at the payment stage, so I went up to the counter to make my purchase. It seemed the staff member was more focused on being right than helping customers. The interaction went as follows:
Staff: Are you paying with UBC card?
Me: No, credit card, but I tried the self-service kiosks and kept getting an endless processing loop at the payment stage.
Staff: Did you try all the other machines?
Me: ...No? I shouldn't have to. [I'm pretty sure there were 4-6 kiosks there ... did she really expect me to try all of them?]
Staff: Well, we're really not supposed to process credit cards at the counter.
Me: I know, but I tried the self-service and it didn't work.
Staff: Well it worked for other customers.
The last statement indicated that I was not about to trust this lady to handle my food, even though she in the end offered to process my payment. I left and gladly paid double at Starbucks, where they didn't treat me...

One location at the Meadowvale Town Center has no Caucasian employees and has the slowest pickup window, inside lines. Their attitude alone has convinced me that they don't appreciate me as a customer. Not do they want to work for my money. This is not indicative.of all South East Asians as I have worked with many good people over the years. I know well enough that it is a cultural difference with the first tier and will not be solved with training or education, go to Sauble Beach, Stratford or any of the smaller towns and perhaps RBI can correct the inevitable instore for their investors with more arrogance and money...
Read moreThe ladies and employees that work here are really nice, but they don’t listen to the order properly...I’ve ordered cream of broccoli soup three times: once she checked in the back to make sure they have some and the put my transaction through, only to find out after 5 mins that they actually didn’t. I was given Mediterranean lentil soup, which I didn’t really like. Second time, same thing happened, I said no to the lentil soup and was offered a veggie garden sandwich to make up for it. Third time, and this might partly be my fault because I didn’t check right then, but she gave me a chicken noodle soup instead! Came home to realize it’s a soup I can’t even drink because I’m vegetarian.... not ordering soup from here again. I’m sure they don’t do it intentionally, but it’s not good...
