Was divided on making a review but after hearing other people’s experiences, I figured I would. Been ordering from papas for as long as I can remember. 15+ years. We placed a $85 order for my mom’s birthday and every single person who had the wings ended up super sick afterwards. My mom is sensitive to foods and couldn’t leave her bed for 3 days. I contacted papas the next day and the owner was super quick to call back. While I understand they may have sold 400 wings that night and no one else got sick, that doesn’t mean our batch wasn’t easily cross contaminated. Owner was super nice and promised to make it right.
There was a misunderstanding when he said he would credit our order we thought the whole order (pizza+wings) but he meant just the wings. Okay, no big deal. At least it’s something! About 2 weeks later we called to cash in on our free wings and we got told that we already received them and they had a picture for proof. I explained that was impossible. They ended up calling me back and said they mistakenly gave the free wings to someone else who they just assumed was me. (Same building, different unit #) It was their mistake so they agreed to still give us the free wings.
Since we didn’t need 40 wings the owner agreed to do a party tray pizza + 20 wings for cheaper. Don’t remember exactly how much but it came to $24 with tax and delivery. We got our order and no wings. They forgot them! So we call back and they say it’ll be 15 minutes… an hour later we finally got the wings. And what stood out was no apology, nothing. Not from the man on the phone or the delivery driver. The driver just laughed and said “here ya go”. We asked for the pizza and wings to be well done and I swear it looked like some of the cheese didn’t even melt it was so undercooked.
As much as I use to love the food, the place has changed so much for the worse so we’ve decided to take a break and go to Bella’s for a while. Hopefully when we decide to try and order again in a few months things will have improved or we won’t bother trying again. Owner has good intentions but maybe not enough to keep this place as great as...
Read moreTook 2 hours from the time I ordered pizza to when it was delivered, called twice in that span and was told it would be 10-15 minutes each time it did not arrive until an hour after that, when I was told upon ordering it would be there in 50 mins. The last time I called I said I wanted to just cancel the order because my family was hungry and it was taking far too long and the person on the phone did not apologize or try to rectify the situation at all, basically told me it was coming whether I wanted it or not at that point. The food was barely warm and not good quality it was in the past with Papas, very disappointing. The only good thing was the pleasant delivery driver when he arrived, he was the only person who offered any type of an apology although it was not his fault he had just picked it up 15 mins prior. I will not be ordering from there again unfortunately as I have been a long time customer.
Update: Owner contacted me and apologized, was very kind and seems to be making improvements, he provided a gift card, which we will use to give Papa’s another try and hoping it will be a better experience and we can continue supporting this...
Read moreFor years, Papa’s Pizza was known for their lunch special - a solid utility slice. No frills, just basic pep and cheese, with a drink for an unconscionably low $2.50.
After the closure of the local high school, and accompanying reduction in their core consumer base, prices rose and quality dropped significantly. To the point they were serving slices with barely any cheese or pep, and charging $6. I had decided I wouldn’t be back.
Today, I was driving by and decided to give it another shot.
On first walking in, I noticed significant improvements to the physical space. New flooring and a cleaner and brighter feel.
Got my lunch special, and it was delicious. Very cheesy and loads of pep!
Not sure if there’s new owners; but, it’s nice to know Papa’s slice deal has revived some of its former glory. I’d gladly pay $6 for these slices and a pop.
If you haven’t tried their pizza lately, and were feeling the same way as I was about their reduced quality, give it another shot. You won’t be...
