Montana’s BBQ & Bar — Restaurant in Fort McMurray

Montanas has always been my go to place, however after this week’s experience I may have to reconsider. I dined in both Sunday and again tonight and what I witnessed from the manager is shameful. On both occasions I witnessed the manager disrespectfully speak to her staff. To the point on Sunday evening she made the server cry. I was taken back by these actions. I understand that everyone deals with stress differently however , if there is an issue I don’t feel like shaming the staff not only in-front of their co workers but also in-front of paying guests is acceptable. I believe this issue needs to be escalated as I fear how the staff is treated behind the scenes if this is what is accepted to be done in-front of the public eye. Aside from this I would like to shout out the serving staff and cooks as my meal is always fantastic and the service from these young men and women have always been spot on. I hope this is just a bad week and this behaviour is not something these servers have to deal with on a regular basis , as the tension and eggshells after these scenarios is felt by the customers so I can only imagine how...

Came to edmonton for the night as we are from up north. We were staying at a near by hotel.. we always eat at montanas (first time at this restauran)… we ordered burger & poutine .. fish & chips .. as somebody who’s from newfoundland you know how fish is suppose to be cooked.. it was burnt and disgusting and must have been cooked in old dirty oil. The fries were so cold.. as you know a cold poutine is never good especially if the cheese curds don’t melt. The waiter however was absolutely amazing and friendly. The manager however said she would cover the fish.. I mean like you would considering it was not edible. My mother in law never ate a thing because her food was not good. The manager said the fries are cold because they are dealing with a new chain supplier .. which french fries do not go cold that quickly after being cooked… It’s like they cooked a batch of fries and let them sit for a long while. she didn’t even offer to remake it. Would not recommend this place at all, next time I’ll stick to the other Montana's...

Had an amazing experience tonight here at montanas. The food was excellent. My wings were delisous and cooked properly. The server MJ was above all the best with extreme friendliness and professionalism, always asking if our table needed anything and always greeted us with a big smile and a very happy enthusiastic attitude. Our table all agree we will come back here again for for another great experience amazing food and amazing service from MJ. APRIL 29 2025 Here once again had a very enjoyable experience at Montanas. I've come here a few times while I've worked up here and the food is amazing. But I've seen now 4 times were the bartender MJ has shown how us Guests should be treated. She is AMAZING AT HER JOB.
