This is a unique space to have breakfast. On the one hand it's got that small-town diner charm to it, including the friendly and chatty older servers but the food doesn't quite rise to the same level.

In fairness we came in at the peak of brunch time on a Sunday, and we got the vibe that they were shorthanded, but the service was still a tad slow for the style of food they're plating up here.

The food itself was enjoyable, with only a few notes. It's missing the home-cooked feel that a diner like this should be delivering, and instead you're served something that feels rushed and soulless. Scrambled eggs are a bit rubbery, the "poached" eggs were slightly overcooked and obviously cooked in a mold rather than actually poached, and the hollandaise sauce has the powdered sauce taste to it. It all tasted good but a few minor details would really elevate it. I did enjoy the bacon though, it was thicker than I'm used to seeing at a diner like this and was cooked perfectly.

Nothing is going to blow your mind here but I enjoyed the meal I had and I would be perfectly happy coming back here, and I would certainly recommend it first as a breakfast...

We came into Eggcellent Pete’s when the place was nearly empty on a Tuesday afternoon, yet it still took 35–45 minutes for our food to come out. I ordered the Reuben, which looked amazing on the menu—thick cut meat piled high. What I got? A sad, skimpy sandwich with barely a few slivers of meat. It looked nothing like the picture.

When we politely pointed it out to our waitress, she was very kind and understanding. But then, out of nowhere, a rude girl from the kitchen stormed out to our table and basically told us, “That’s how we serve it, and have for 8 years. If you don’t like it, too bad.” Zero professionalism, zero care.

Even the waitress was shocked and apologized, saying the kitchen staff had no right to speak to customers like that. She was so embarrassed by her colleague’s behavior she told us we didn’t have to pay and could just leave if we wanted to. I ended up not eating anything at all after waiting nearly an hour.

I’ve never had a cook come out of the kitchen just to argue with a customer. Completely unacceptable behavior, misleading menu photos, slow service, and an overall horrible vibe. I’ll...

Our kids wanted to go out for pancakes and french toast for breakfast, and we thought we'd try Eggcellent P'Eats as it's been a couple of years since our last visit. It definitely did not disappoint. We arrived around 8:30 on Sunday morning expecting it to be fairly busy, but we were the third table to be seated. Our server was very pleasant and accommodated our kids requests, and provided them with some colouring pages to keep them busy. The food arrived quite promptly. We ordered the regular sized pancakes and french toast for them, as the kids were sharing. They were in awe of the size of the pancakes and french toast, which were absolutely delicious especially with the warm maple syrup. I ordered the BTC eggs - scrambler style and it was very tasty with the potato hash browns. The small bowls of fruit were a nice side as well. My wife enjoyed the French toast as well. We'll definitely be returning to Eggcellent P'Eats in the future, and may need to come by to try out...

When you have a hankering after food so good, you would think your grandma made it for you. Breakfast for lunch? Absolutely. Eggs Benedict to die for (pictured the Blas Benny), with home made hollandaise sauce and hasbrowns that won't stop. Fruit cup full of freshly sliced fruit tops it off as a great palate cleanser. This little local gem is a firm favourite for unpretentious, good home cooking. Sit down and relax as you take in a quintessential "little diner" vibe (surely this is a hole in the wall place?). Weekends can get super busy at brunch and lunch time so bear that in mind. The soup of the day is always well seasoned and a great accompaniment for almost any dish. A small but well considered menu waits to be discovered with each dish standing out. Good luck getting past the breakfast options though! I cannot recommend Eggcelent P'eats enough as a drop in and indulge location. Grandma would be proud!
