Typically one goes to Freson Bros for theis daily or weekly shopping. Picking up items like, milk, bread, eggs, and fresh produce. We went there because my mom had brunch there. Now I know what your thinking, of course she had picked up some delicious items for brunch there no, she had an all you can eat brunch there in the restaurant in the store. We were passing by around dinner time and decided to check the grocery store out. They have the usual grocery store items one would find anywhere. They also have a selection of local products that are unmatched by anyone else. I saw so many startups and small producers products on the store shelves. It made me smile to know there is a place where local matters. The restaurant space is divided into sections: salad bar, pizza station and the deli where the hot foods reside. The salad bar was stocked with the best produce they have in store. Multiple items to choose from served in large ceramic bowls. The pizza station had every conceivable topping one could imagine and then some. With a grocery store attached to them the sky is the limit for your hand made pizza. Then they can cook your pizza in their.gas fired oven in minutes. The hot foods at the deli caught my eye. Delicious steamy meats and sides were on display. I had my choice of lasagna, chicken enchiladas, pork ribs, and more. I got the beef rib and steamed vegetables as well as roasted root vegetable medley. My wife had the French onion soup and the fried chicken with a salad. Every dish was fantastic. The beef was so tender and literally fell off the bone. Roasted root veg was a complete surprise to me at how simple and good it is. Go the Freson Bros for the fresh groceries and stay for the hand crafted local beers and sodas they have in their restaurant as well as the delicious foods they provide.

Updated Review: I recently took my kids to pick up some groceries to make breakfast at home, however, they convinced me to get breakfast at their restaurant instead. We ordered one of each of their breakfast options, one of which was called the Bus Driver's special. The eggs were made fresh however you wanted (scrambled, over easy, etc ) after ordering. We were told to choose two slices of bread, which there were 4 varieties, which we toasted ourselves. The only thing I was surprised to see was that we were able to pick them out of the breadloave bags ourselves and that no tongs were available to do so. The breakfast potatoes were delicious and well seasoned, as were the breakfast sausages. We all found the bacon to be extremely salty and the flavour was not to our liking. Coffee was also included, but my kids were offered tea or hot chocolate instead, and we all know which one they jumped all over. Overall it was a tasty breakfast. Original Review: It's a beautiful store that carries many items you might not be able to find elsewhere. They also source a lot of items locally within Alberta which is nice. It's also convenient to be able to grab something anytime as they are open 24 hours. The store is always clean and tidy. I enjoy getting a whiff from the smokehouse located inside the store, along with the restaurant and the bakery. The prices are a little more expensive for some items I find, but nothing too crazy. It's also the closest grocery store to Westpark.

ā€œGreat service, but packaging left me cold ā„ļøā€ Went in for custom wild game cutting and was impressed by the beautiful store, friendly staff, excellent pricing, and quick turnaround. The maple breakfast sausage was pretty tasty, though the maple flavour was subtle to nonexistent. However, the packaging was a letdown—the 25lbs min of sausages were frozen in Styrofoam and cellophane, making them prone to freezer burn(photo attached of when I received them) Other cuts were fairly loosely wrapped in UNLABELLED butcher paper, leaving me guessing what cut was what. A better conversation with the butcher might have helped, so I can take partial blame. But thought their ā€œstandardā€ would be better. Despite these issues, I’d consider returning for the service and value.

This is usually my go-to spot to shop (I loved it so much that we purchased a home in the same neighbourhood not far from this Freson Bros), but over the course of the last few months, there has been a decline. I thought maybe all Freson Bros stores were changing how they do business after the passing of their founder, but it seems after visiting other locations that this one is the only one experiencing a decline.

I used to love visiting this location because the staff seemed to go above and beyond to serve their customers and always seemed to be in a wonderful mood - this is no longer the case. Most of the newer staff that have been brought in over the last number of months are very rude; either ignoring customers when they are standing at a counter waiting for a product behind glass (even though they have seen the customer and looked over multiple times), or not having the same amount of situational awareness and customer service that past employees have had - for example tossing groceries to the other side of the till, not bagging them, and making the customer ask for the cart back after the cashier has already moved onto the next customer. Another area of decline is inventory - I have picked up and paid full price for expired items on more than one occasion over the last couple of months - the latest item was a 12 pack of eggs that expired a couple of days before I purchased them. Unfortunately I didn't notice this either time until I had the item home and threw out my receipt - now I make it a habit to check the expiry dates. Also, out of stock items aren't re-stocked very quickly or often which has often left me wondering whether they are going to discontinue the product.

As I said in the beginning of my review other locations are still the same old Freson Bros that I remember when I first visited and the staff at other locations are excelling in customer service (the chef at another location gave us a free full container of au jus to go with our beef ribs for when we cooked them at home)...I'm lucky to get someone to come over to serve me beef ribs out of the display at this location and when the staff do, they act like it was a huge inconvenience that cut into their staff discussion time (if they aren't ignoring you and pretending you don't exist as you stand there). The last area that changed for the worse is brunch - I used to attend almost every weekend, now I might go once every couple of months. I miss when pancakes were large, cooked fresh and when I could add blueberries to to the fresh sourdough pancakes as opposed to being tiny, pre-cooked and placed in the steam line to dry out. Eggs are still cooked fresh so it would be wonderful if pancakes could be too as they once were.

This location is still doing very well in the butcher shop and it is still my favourite location to buy meat both for price and quality/quantity/freshness. The lady who does the product testing is also lovely and always has wonderful samples, the best attitude, and is always happy and very friendly. If the areas I once loved improve, I will gladly amend my review about this (once favourite)...

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the unacceptable behavior I witnessed at your store I had a distressing encounter with one of your employees that has led me to cease shopping at your store altogether.

During my visit, I observed an employee named Jonathan displaying disrespectful and unprofessional conduct towards his colleagues, particularly towards female employees. His derogatory remarks and belittling behavior towards his coworkers, including calling a female employee a derogatory term, are completely unacceptable and create a hostile work environment.

Furthermore, I was appalled by another employee's inappropriate comments about my purchase of chocolate and tampons in the same order, followed by an intrusive and offensive question about my personal health. This type of behavior is not only disrespectful but also discriminatory and offensive.

It is disheartening to know that despite such behavior being reported, the individual in question continues to work at your store without any apparent consequences. This reflects poorly on Freezing Bros Inc and raises serious concerns about the company's commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace.

I urge you to take immediate action to address these issues, including conducting a thorough investigation, providing appropriate training on workplace conduct and harassment prevention, and ensuring that all employees are held accountable for their actions. It is crucial to create a workplace culture that values respect, diversity, and inclusivity.

I expect a prompt response from your company regarding the steps being taken to address these concerns and prevent such incidents from happening in the future. Failure to address these issues adequately may result in further action being taken.

Thank you for your attention to...
