La Maison du Burger — Restaurant in Gatineau

As I’m deleting old photos on phone I came across those I took last time I ordered from here…. Which may be the last time I ever do, sadly…[next paragraph]… The fries were quite good and burger was OK (although the laissez faire mood cooks might feel on a late-night shift was certainly apparent). The bruschetta was tasteless — lacking any ingredients such as balsamic, olive oil, garlic, etc. Not to mention toppings overall. It was low quality bread/cheese in a very small portion for the price. It must have even been some kind of error it felt so wrong and I still remember that. That is what I thought at least… until I opened the bag with mini donuts. Now those finally convinced me it wasn’t just the bruschetta. The donuts had sat too long. Many were but half donuts and half crumbs… [paragraph]… Seems they were either too busy and rushing (doubtful at 9pm here, mind you) or even a bit careless simply. In any case, not worth staying open late for them if the quality drops so much longer by this time. Nor worth the price for me.

Last night I ordered a burger with an extra meat Patty and french fries that came with gravy and coleslaw. The gravy consisted of 2 tablespoons of gravy and 2 tablespoons of coleslaw,,, yes 2 tablespoons. The french fries are Factory flavored Frozen bagged stuff that came to me cold with the consistency of cardboard. The hamburger was really tasty but the meat patties are very small and overcooked about 3 in wide and maybe a quarter inch thick, menu said it was 1/2 lbs and with the extra pattie it should have been 3/4 but was more like 1/4 lbs in total nothing like any of the pictures they have on their website. And the best thing of all this by the time it got to my door it was just under $30. Didn't eat it still sitting in my fridge.

Next time I spend $30 on take out ill go to McDonalds,,, at least I'll know what...

I had an absolutely delightful experience — from the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were attentive without being intrusive.
