I’ve been coming to St-Albert on St-Joseph in Hull for over 13 years, and it never disappoints. The food quality is consistently excellent — no matter when you visit, you can count on the same great flavors, perfectly balanced and satisfying every single time.
Their poutine is a standout — the perfect mix of salty, savory, and just the right amount of cheese and gravy. It’s comfort food done exceptionally well. Their sides are equally impressive, complementing the main dishes without ever being overdone. Everything feels carefully prepared, fresh, and thoughtfully seasoned.
The staff at St-Albert also deserve a mention. They are always friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making the experience feel personal even when the place is busy. Over the years, I’ve noticed the genuine pride they take in their work — it really shows in both the food and the service.
The atmosphere is casual, relaxed, and perfect for a quick meal, a family outing, or even a casual meet-up with friends. The consistency of both the food and service makes it a reliable go-to spot in Hull — one that I trust to satisfy cravings every single time.
If you’re looking for classic, well-prepared dishes, outstanding poutine, and a friendly dining experience, St-Albert is an absolute must-visit. After 13+ years, I can confidently say it remains one of the best spots in the area, and I’ll definitely keep coming back for many more...
Read moreMy daughter and I ordered burger combos with medium poutine and a drink. There was slight miscommunication and the order was not exactly as I had ordered. As far as the quality... The burger was okay at best.they were obviously preformed frozen patties. They were dry and tough, the toppings were fine and it was dressed well. The poutine was okay. The fries were not the best. The brown sauce was nothing to write home about. The cheese was a pleasant surprise. At first, we had thought that they skimped on the curds, which were very fresh and squeeky. There were other layers of cheese hidden below. We were very satisfied with that. However, it wasn't hot enough to get the cheese to that melty point. It was warm, but not...
Read moreNot the best poutine I've ever had, but not the worst. The fries are a bit soggy for my taste, I have gotten some raw fries in a few poutines too. Usually stingy with the cheese and gravy if getting medium or smaller size poutine, bottom layer always ends up being just dry fries. I personally like their veggie poutine (fried onions and mushrooms) but they don't make a small version of it, only medium and up. My husband loves their regular poutines though and would eat them every day, I am more picky however. For these reasons they get 3 stars from me. Service is pretty fast and order mistakes are rare. If you're in this area of Hull, this is probably the best local...
