Arbour restaurant on Whyte Ave in Edmonton is a culinary gem that has captured our hearts and taste buds from the moment we stepped through its doors. Despite opening less than a year ago, it exudes an air of seasoned excellence that's truly remarkable.
From the first bite to the last, every dish we ordered was a testament to the chef's mastery of flavor and creativity. The squash and carrots were a revelation, showcasing the kitchen's skill in transforming humble vegetables into culinary delights. The fried chicken and prawns were executed to perfection, with each bite offering a symphony of flavors and textures that left us craving for more. And let's not forget about the dessert – the baklava cheesecake was simply divine. Its decadent layers of sweetness and nuttiness were a fitting conclusion to our meal, leaving us with satisfied smiles and eager anticipation for our next visit.
In addition to the outstanding food, Arbour also boasts a commendable selection of beers, and we're already looking forward to exploring their cocktail menu on our next visit. The ambiance of Whyte Ave adds an extra layer of charm to the dining experience, and we were delighted to be seated by the window, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. Read moreWent in two weeks ago to check it out and…… wow 🤤. First off I’m the worlds pickiest eater, (Im talking just ketchup on burgers) so at first the menu looked super intimidating. Luckily for me, the owner, Andrew, came over and explained all the dishes to me. The best piece of advice he gave and what I would pass on to anyone who goes in, was “don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone”. And holy i’m glad I did.
We started with the potatoes which somehow stole the show for me. I can’t explain the magic that goes into them so I won’t bother trying to. But they are a must try. For our mains we had the Steak and the “Nduja” pizza. Which proceeded to kick our butts pretty hard. The sourdough pizza was unexpectedly one of my favourite pizzas I’ve had in a long time. Jeremy in the kitchen must have had a good trainer or something cause that guy knows how to make a killer ‘Za.
At this point we have tried both the desserts and I’m torn between the two. I’m not a dessert connoisseur so again I’ll refrain from getting into the details. But yeah, they go pretty hard.
The cocktail menu is short and sweet but there’s something for everyone. Andrew has some amazing wines on his list. You can really tell it’s more of a passion than a business for him.
Anyways, definitely check this place out if you want to ruin other restaurants for yourself. Because afterwards, you won’t be able to enjoy the other basic restaurants...
Read moreThe inside atmosphere was quite bland looking and hardly a patron was there when we went in on a Friday night around 6:30. But it was nice and cool as they do have air conditioning. We decided to sit on the patio. Unfortunately, part of the patio looks out onto the alley and they do not have it closed off. We could see and hear several people, some inebriated, from neighboring businesses milling around, smoking weed and cigarettes. It was very pungent and not conducive to a pleasant dining experience. We asked to be moved to a different spot which was helpful. Alrhough the one-page menu seemed to lack choice, we all found something to try. Our food took quite a while to come out. When it finally arrived, we were all quite pleased with what we had. The brussels sprouts and the chicken were extremely tasty. The pizzas were quite thin and one of our companions thought it was therefore too "soggy/slippery" if you will. But the Green Goddess one was so delicious with its well chosen combination of ingredients. We spent quite a bit more time there than we would have liked to due to more than average food wait times. On our way out, we noticed the restaurant was now full of patrons. We probably would not return to dine, but would do take-out or pick up in a heartbeat as the food in itself is...
