Namaste India is our absolute favorite restaurant in Edmonton. The atmosphere is always so warm and soulful, with beautiful music and the friendliest staff who make you feel truly welcome. The service is outstanding – the waiters and all the team are so polite and kind. The food is consistently delicious. My husband and I especially love their Coconut Naan and Dal Makhani – they are simply perfect! This place has become very special to us, as we celebrate our anniversaries and family milestones here, and every time it feels just right. As a yoga teacher who has traveled extensively across India, I can say it is a true blessing to find such authentic, traditional Indian cuisine here in Canada. The flavors are just as rich, soulful, and full of love as in India itself – you can really feel the heart of the people who prepare this food. The prices are also very reasonable, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you are new to Indian cuisine and don’t like spicy food, I highly recommend trying Palak Paneer – it’s mild, creamy, and will make you fall in love with Indian food. Highly recommended – Namaste India is truly a gem in Edmonton!

One of the best Indian (or any cuisine) restaurants in Edmonton. Our server was friendly and attentive, making sure we weren't without drinks and a few laughs. The meat in both the curries was tender, while the sauces were thick, rich and full of depth. The garlic naan was fresh, and went perfectly with the curries. Spice levels were objectively appropriate for our preferences that were passed on to the kitchen. Our group tried both the Mango Lassi and milkshake; they were creamy and perfect to take the edge off the spice when needed. The milkshake was definitely preferred by those with a sweet tooth. Our server was knowledgeable about all menu items and was able to guide our group towards items we all enjoyed; our picky eater who dislikes onions, peppers, and chickpeas was able to find a curry they were satisfied with.

Loved the buffet spread here! Lot of good vegetarian options are available a la carte and as part of buffet. We went in for lunch buffet here. The ambience is very Indian. Decor is fusion style but has beautiful art pieces, paintings and very desi lighting. The price is extremely pocket friendly, and the taste of food is very satisfying. Vegetarian items of buffet included 3 starters, a salad, a raita, a soup, 3 main course curries, some accompaniments, 2-3 types of assorted breads, 2 rice items and one dessert item. Enjoyed everything! Naan was fresh and soft; loved it! Will definitely go here again during my next Edmonton visit!

I usually dont even leave reviews but i really need these two brothers and this restaurant to succeed so I can continually get my fix! I’ve been looking for a new Indian restaurant since Punjab on 34th ave got new, but not great, owners a few years ago and this place went beyond all my expectations. I’ve tried literally every Indian restaurant on skip/on whyte and this is the only review i’ll leave because all the other ones id write would be unpleasant at best.

The owners are two brothers and they are very enthusiastic about their new restaurant, it’s awesome! If youre reading this please, please dont change!

This was our second time ordering. We got the butter chicken combo that comes with rice/gulab jamun dessert/samosa, muttar paneer (peas), plain naan. We spent $35 so we got ANOTHER 20oz butter chicken in a promotional deal. AN EXCELLENT VALUE.

First off their portions are huge, especially compared to other indian restaurants - they use the larger/wide black takeout containers (20oz entrees) as opposed to the small clear cylindrical ones.

The food is obviously not frozen like most places (cough daawat cough) and their butter chicken isnt a goopy tomato-soup mess like literally every other place in town.

The butter chicken was savory/creamy, chicken chunks being super tender and well cooked with plenty of pieces to eat in the sauce. In other words it wasnt just gravy with 6 pieces of chicken!

Some places cheat and like to make the sauce for their muttar paneer the same as their butter chicken but this place wow’s again with a more heavily spiced and ‘oniony’ gravy. The sauce itself is still very smooth and the peas pop in your mouth like fresh ones should (no mushy peas here).

The gluten in their naan is well worked and activated resulting in a pleasantly stretchy dough. An order of one naan for only $2.50 usually gives 4 palm sized pieces (we usually get three orders and put the leftovers in the toaster the next day).

The basmati rice is fragrant, fluffy, and not all coated in oil.

The samosa is also not greasy at all, well spiced, and comes with a slightly sweet, obviously house made, tamarind chutney. It’s much better than the bright red sugary junk other places give you and this one actually tastes like tamarind.

I cannot say enough good things about this place and its kind/friendly owners. As a note, they didnt pay me or ask me to leave this lengthy review nor did they give me anything for free. This place honestly just has great food at a great price and i hope they stick around;...

Dear future customers,

Please look at how the owners respond to reviews and complains! Classical "attack the reviewer" tactic! Asking me if I was intoxicated? Really? That's a very polite response. Tells you a lot about them.

Incident-So the 1st person orders non veg and steps away. the other orders veg. The waiter is primed and she thinks both ordered non veg and gets the order wrong. You go home and check the food is wrong. When complained, they tell you that

-we gave you the receipt with the food, you should have checked.

So, basically you must check what the receipt says or they wont get it right. Not their responsibility.

-we can always turn this on you that non veg is what you ordered so you made the mistake not us, the restaurant.

So, basically you should always have a voice recording switched on to make sure you have a proof of what you ordered. Because your word means nothing to them!

-they said they can fix the mistake "that they did not make"

You know what their resolution to the issue was? You can pay us again and we will give you what you order. Mind you, you have to PAY again so they fix the issue. What? Seems like I have to pay twice to get my food right. What kind of a resolution is that? Me paying twice and the restaurant not owning or even sharing any responsibility?

I was a repeat customer at this restaurant. I liked the food first time around, gave 10/10 on SkipTheDishes, and took my friend to visit. but this time, the services were horrible. The lady at the counter was pleasant, the manager guy is a goon, a thug by the way he talks.

Please feel free to go here if you don't mind going through all this ^ Me? I am done with this restaurant. NEVER AGAIN.

Response from the owner3 hours ago Raunil thanks for your feedback, we were not sure how to respond you but as ur consistency and dedication on your incident we are compled to put light on that late evening. If we missed anything pls let us know Weren’t you intoxicated? You and your friend walk-in at 10:30pm and your friend who order lamb roganjosh n chilly chicken, we have protocols to repeat the order and gave you the receipt. Now around 11pm when we are about to leave you called and must realised your vegetarian and insisted delivery chilly paneer to fix the mistake which not we made, we could have it but it was too late for us to deliver not what ur blaming for us. We apologies...

We visited Namaste India with family and friends on July 5th for a delightful lunch meeting. The restaurant provided the perfect setting for our gathering, with a pleasant and inviting ambience that set a relaxed tone for our meal.

The food at Namaste India was exceptional. We sampled a range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and each one was a hit. The Lamb Palak stood out with its tender lamb pieces in a rich spinach sauce, while the Fish Pakora impressed us with its crispiness and flavorful interior. The Gobi156 was a new discovery for us and turned out to be incredibly tasty.

One of the aspects we appreciated the most was the attention to our spice preferences. The staff asked for our desired spice levels and ensured that each dish matched our requests perfectly. This attention to detail made our dining experience even more enjoyable.

We spent nearly two hours savoring the delicious food and engaging in conversation with our friends. The atmosphere was conducive to a leisurely lunch, allowing us to enjoy our time without feeling rushed. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.

Overall, Namaste India provided a wonderful experience for our lunch meeting. The food was outstanding, the ambience was lovely, and the service was impeccable. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Edmonton. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable...
