We had taken our kids into Sudbury for a move and decided to do an early dinner afterwards, our youngest wanted to do Boston Pizza. We walked into an empty hostess stand, she was nowhere to be seen on the floor, once we were seated we sorted out food for all of us. It was a wait before our orders were taken as well as drinks, not typical of a sit down venue in our experience.
The food came out in a reasonable time, it wasn't terrible but not the best either. No one bothered to check in on the table to see "if everything was ok", I had to continually stand up to scan the floor to look for staff to ask for more water for the kids, as again no staff was on the floor. When I was able to ask it was nearly 10 minutes to get the water and the hostess came out from the back with her mouth full of food. As it took that long to get water, I did go ask a second time, I was given a dismissive " they're bringing it".
Now I started to pay more attention, our server, Alyson, was very good. The majority of our visit she appeared to be responsible for the entire diner side of the restaurant, which if this was an odd day the manager should have been on the floor helping so I believe the short comings in our visit fall on the head of the older gentleman I believe to be the manager, grey hair, sleeve tattoos. He held a dismissive attitude of the water request, I watched him walk around the floor, engaged with 1 table on the diner side and spent 5-10 minutes at the bar socializing afterwards. This is an estimate as our entire table used the restrooms before leaving.
If this gentleman is indeed the manger on duty today he has severely let his staff down in not assisting them. You should relieve your hostess to grab a bit to eat, not have her rush back to the stand with a mouth full of food. One server should not be responsible for by my count over our stay, 10+ tables with zero help.
When my wife and I have gone out to Kelsey's, Montana's for dinners the staff are set up for success regardless of the time of day, and we are always checked-in with by the server and at Kelsey's the manager has always asked us how things were as well.
Lastly when we were getting ready to leave, my youngest went to pick up an item she dropped, the attached picture is what we found mushed into the bench seat under the table.
This owner may need to provide his managers with a refresher on what is expected of them when they are in charge of the shift or day. Today was a huge let down of an experience for us and they need to do better...
Read moreI'm not one to leave bad reviews but the service on my mom's birthday was beyond horrible! The ladies at the front were exceptional, very friendly and nice! The bad service started when we finally got our table, there was about 6 of us, we sat there for 15 mins or more before anyone acknowledged us! Our waitress finally came over, her response was " I couldn't see you guys from over there" We then placed our order, drinks, apps, food, we then sat there a long time before food came out! Waiting that long for our main would have been OK, if we had received our apps, but instead they waited to serve the apps with our main dish!. I ended up having to wait a bit longer to eat, as our waitress didn't bring enough utensils and was nowhere to be seen to ask for another!. Mom ordered a pasta dish, but they ran out of the pasta for that dish and instead of letting us know, they brought it out with a substitute pasta and let her know then, would have been nice to know before hand, so she could change her option or ask for another pasta to be added, not to mention a dish that should have heat and flavor was very bland, no flavor and she's couldn't eat it, nor did she take it home, was a waste! Our meals were done when our waitress came back around, she asked if anyone wanted more to drink, I said yes and she then proceed to say so no more drinks and I repeated that I'd like another and she acknowledged, after a while and seeing her walk around a few times, I realized I was not getting another drink!.
More time went by as we were all sitting there, trying to get her attention so I could get another drink and others could order dessert, when she finally came back around, I just mentioned i didn't get my drink yet, and her response was " oh of course you didn't" We didn't bring up the service with her, we are all non-conflict people, but each of us talked amongst ourselves, what should have been a good night out for my mom's birthday, turned into a not so good night and one of the ladies first time there, wasn't a good experience!
We definitely won't be going back!

Read moreSo a colleague of mine and I go back to this Boston Pizza we visited yesterday for drinks and today for lunch with our whole crew. We frequent Boston Pizzas all over the country as our job entails a lot of travel. So we order the shrimp pasta dish which is almost $20 / plate. The dish is served in 5 .minutes which is great but pasta was totally overcooked like mush and instead of a 25-30 count shrimp as they show on the menu; we're served baby shrimp. After feeling ripped off we call the bartender over and my buddy sends his plate back. I.tell her how disappointed I am in the meal.but I have to eat because we are going to the movies after we eat. Now.the bartender was friendly, she.served us the night.before. We also.went there for lunch with our.whole crew earlier.that day and.enjoyed a good lunch. Now.this is.where it gets crazy. The "assistant general.mamager" Kevin comes out , guns blazing.and.asks"which one of.you guys was yelling at my bartender without asking a single.question. We were furious at his approach and.things got heated..Anyhow, this "hospitality genius" practically eggs on a fight with us and.then decides to.take our.beer which was the only decent thing we enjoyed tonight..Let me tell you we will not.be going.back as Kevin's approach in "managing" was abhorable. With service like.that this guy should not.step.foot.in the front of house in such a reputable establishment..I can't believe Boston Pizza would have such a person managing their valuable customers..We are deeply disappointed and will not.be going back to a Boston Pizza for some.time as a result of this nasty experience.. My suggestion to owners is to keep this guy in the back if house where he is less able.to tarnish a great reputation.. Deeply...
