I don’t know what happened to JD’s Smokehouse, but this is not the same place it used to be. The BBQ is unrecognizable—brisket was still in the smoker at 7pm which is crazy, ribs that taste like they took a detour through the Walmart freezer aisle, and mac & cheese so runny it might as well be soup. Even the “jumbo” wings were more like diet-sized nuggets. And the “BBQ sauce”? Just straight-up ketchup. I wish I was joking. The weird part? The best thing I had was the garlic naan from their Indian menu—it was actually delicious. So now I’m wondering… is JD’s having an identity crisis? Maybe it’s time to either bring back the legendary BBQ people loved or fully commit to Indian food (but with more meat options). Right now, it feels like they’re trying to do both and failing at one. Oh, and if you’re hoping to catch a hockey game, prepare to take a trip down memory lane—they’re playing playoff games from three years ago. Maybe they’re hoping we won’t notice the slow and awkward service if we’re too busy reliving the past. Owners, I know you see it. The restaurant was empty. People want to love this place again, but something has to change. Please bring back the JD’s that actually knew BBQ—or at least give me a time machine so I can eat here in 2019.

Wonderful dinner. After driving by so many times, we finally stopped in. Boy, was it worth it. I had no idea the fusion was Indian fusion! For starters, we had the burnt ends and stuffed canoes. Both are super flavourful and delicious. My husband had the loaded hog poutine. It was huge, and when they say loaded, they mean it. He ate half, and we took the rest home. I had the Palak Paneer, light on spice with butter Naan. The 'light on spice' was just on the edge of too hot for me lol. This white girl just can't do it! Lol, but it was fresh and so flavourful. I ate the whole thing. My only complaint was the Naan. I am probably wrong, but if tasted and felt like store bought. It was heavy and dense. Not at all the light and fluffy full of bubbles, fresh out of the oven kind of Naan. It did the trick but it can be improved. The Naan is the reason I only gave 4 stars on the food. The service was great, helpful, informative and asking our opinion becaus they want input so they can improve. The bill at the end was reasonable, especially these days when 2 people can't go out for $100 bucks anymore, it was under a $100 for 2 apps, 2 mains, 2 glasses of wine and coffee. I would highly recommend JD Fusion Smokehouse.

I am extremely disappointed from what I received today. It's my birthday- I really wanted brisket and remember this place had a great sampler for 2 which I have ordered a few times in new past. The attached are what I received today. Everything is coated in the same barbecue sauce either to hide that the food is stale and dry or that it had no meat. The wings were unbelievably dry, inedible. The two tiny slices of brisket we received were 90% fat with no actual meat and smothered in a generic BBQ sauce. Ribs had no meat at all and again covered in more sauce. The sausage was super dry and again covered in sauce. The pulled pork had absolutely no flavour and was...wet, it's the only way to describe it. The saving grace was the chicken skewers. This was an awfully expensive meal to receive in miserable condition.

Worst barbecue I’ve ever been served in my 25 years of life

(Orderd thru Uber eats came ahead of time) Order was the sample it all (1 person)

Brisket,Ribs,Sausage,Chicken Skewer, Wings, Pulled pork, Sides chosen: Fries/Mac & Cheese

Brisket: No Smokey flavour was severely lacking any real flavour at all was doused in this hevily ketchup induced barbecue sauce very very fatty and not in a good way just mounds of chewy fat

1.7 out of 10 I took one bite and threw it away never order this ever

Ribs: chewiest ribs I’ve ever had in my life felt like they were left in a oven for over 2 hours on the highest setting once again drowned in ketchup barbecue sauce little chunks of bone all thru out the rib Montanas all you can eat 2nd batch is immensely better quality then whatever this was and that’s saying something

2.0 out of 10 once again took one bite and threw the rest away

Pulled pork: soaked in that ketchup sauce had little to no flavour I almost couldn’t believe it was being passed off as pulled pork so much water in my little container that the pork came in I coulda used it as a drink that being if it wasn’t utterly disgusting I took my first bite of the meal from this and hoped it couldn’t get worse from here well to put it honestly it didn’t I had to try it again to make sure it truly tasted like that yep it did the mouth feel of chewing on a wet rag that had been left in ur sink after you cooked a pork meal a week ago I went in for a second bite to confirm it was this bad and yep it was

0.9 out of 10

Sausage: this in my opinion had to be the best meat on the whole platter it had a somewhat decent flavour with the slightest amount of crisp and texture on the outside and a decently soft interior I still would never order again as it was covered completely in whatever that ketchup sauce is although not being disgusting and inedible like the first three things I had tried I would still never order again and I believe the reason I didn’t mind it was because of the first three things I tried this was in comparison much better but still lacking a severe amount of seasoning & Smokey flavour

5.3 Out of 10 if they left out the sauce it’s a 6.0

Chicken Skewer: not bad not good the chicken was kinda chewy but with a hint of I’m trying wasn’t as bad as the first 3 items but not quite on the level of the sausage the sauce they had on it tasted like some kind of mustard which I’m not gonna lie I didn’t mind as it helped with the dryness of the chicken I did finish the skewer tho

5.0 out of 10

Chicken Wings: over cooked and not crispy not much you can really get out of these wings besides the fact they are an underwhelming side dish to an already very mediocre meal the sauce they put it on surprisingly wasn’t bad it was the Nashville HOT I genuinely really enjoy a good Nashville hot but this wasn’t it although edible unlike the other ketchup sauce they use to drown the terrible flavours of everything else at this restaurant it was below par Nashville sauce

Wings themselves 5.0 out of 10 The sauce is like a 5.9 out of 10

7&8. Mac And cheese and fries: Running out of characters well the Mac and Cheese well saving you the time was horrific don’t order it the looked like something I would make in college with leftovers after a night at the bar

3.8 out of 10

fries were so overcooked they were inedible well I ate the fries it was more of pity meal I ate thinking about the 50$ I just wasted on some of the worst food I’ve ever tried

3.0 out of 10 only ate because well it’s a fry it’s pretty hard to make that inedible but they definitely tried

In the end I would never recommend this meal to a friend or foe Possibly the biggest waste of 50$ as I only Finished the fries, chicken wings, chicken, skewer, and sausage

Overal rating is a 3 out of 10

Had to add this in I’m far from a pickey eater and never throw away food this I put in the garabge I genuinely can’t remember the last time I’ve ordered food from Uber Eats or even cooked it myself and threw it out so take...

JD Fusion Smokehouse: Where dryness and tastelessness meet in perfect harmony, accompanied by slow service and obnoxious music!

Let's start with the ribs, shall we? If you enjoy chewing on cardboard coated in a hint of BBQ sauce, then look no further! Their chicken wings follow suit, providing a delightful experience of blandness that leaves you questioning if flavor even exists.

Now, let's talk about their pulled pork. If you're into the idea of consuming what feels like shredded newspaper soaked in lukewarm water, then this dish will surely delight your taste buds. And don't even get me started on the poutine; it's like they took the concept of cheese and gravy and decided to omit any actual flavor.

But fear not, dear reader, for the macaroni and cheese is here to save the day! Well, sort of. After dousing it with a heavy amount of salt and pepper, it becomes somewhat bearable. Just make sure to have a water bottle handy to wash it down.

Oh, and let's not forget about the draft beer. It's the perfect companion to the lackluster food, providing a flat and off taste that makes you question if it's been sitting around since the medieval ages.

And as if the culinary disappointment wasn't enough, the service is as slow as molasses in January. You'll have plenty of time to contemplate the meaning of life while waiting for your mediocre meal.

To top it all off, the ambiance is completed by loud, obnoxious music that makes you wonder if you stumbled into a concert instead of a dining establishment.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a culinary adventure filled with disappointment, slow service, and a soundtrack that makes your ears bleed, JD Fusion Smokehouse is the...

This is a difficult review to put words too. The server was lovely. She was polite but seemed to be way overrun. I stood at the door for almost ten minutes before she was able to approach me. I then waited an additional 5 minutes at the bar to order my take out and probably another 10 to 15 to get the food. I think she just had too much to do as one person. She seemed to be solo running front of the house. I researched this place prior to arriving in Sudbury. (we were here on a little family vacay) and it looked delicious. We got the large sampler plate and most of it was really good. The pulled pork and ribs were dry but the brisket, wings and chicken skewers were all great! I also ordered their Wednesday chicken special as it sounded good. I was already tired and probably a little grumpy from all the waiting I had to do, I was unimpressed I paid $90, including tip for 2 small boxes and I got back to the hotel and they forgot the coleslaw. Because I was mad, I drove back. The chef questioned why they needed to give me the coleslaw (I felt bad for the server) and the chef made me feel like I shouldn't get it? The bar did look impressive, especially their whisky selection while I sat there waiting.

In summary, after this visit, it is not note worthy, especially if you only have a few dinners to get in Sudbury. I wouldn't visit next time. I was...
