Our experience at Tommy’s Not Here went from excellent to awful very quickly. I want to give the kitchen 10 stars because our meal was absolutely incredible. Everything was cooked to perfection, full of flavour, and overall great. However, I want to give the service no stars. Our server (whose name I unfortunately can’t remember) was arrogant from the start. He wasn’t very respectful and though he was relatively (I’m being generous) attentive, we quickly came to see just how arrogant he was. Quick backstory; we are two university students who don’t have a ton of money. We were given a gift card by my now mother in law to celebrate our 6 month anniversary because there was no way we could afford a place like that without it. She gave us the gift card that was given to her as a gift so we wanted to be reasonable with how much of it we spent. Our bill came up to $125 and my fiancé gave a $10 tip so that we could at least give the remainder of the gift certificate back to his mother to contribute to a bill for her in the future. We paid the bill, he took the gift certificate to the till to process it, but then came back to our table and had the nerve to say “I just wanted to make sure you got your math right. This is a $125 bill and you’ve only given me a $10 tip... just thought you might want to check your math.” We were so stunned we kind of just looked at each other for a minute in disbelief and then told him to take another $10. We shouldn’t have done that. After leaving I tried to call a manager but conveniently no manager was ever available and there is no email to reach anyone to complain. I’m just going to say this; if you aldont have a ton of money to work with and want to spend all that you can in a good meal, this might not be the place for you. It disgusts me that a person who walked to and from my table a total of about 4 times believes he deserves a very large tip because of the price of my bill. In Canada, no percentage of the wage is taken to account for gratuity so there is no excuse here but pure greed. Very disappointed, next time (if I ever do go back) I’ll be bringing my tip straight to...
Read more2 thumbs up! Haven't been here in awhile so I chose it tonight for a reunion of old family friends. We had a fabulous dinner, as always. Started off with a platter of their famous calamari to share with a nice Pinot. Yum. It was done to perfection with just enough zing.
I kept it simple for my starter with the best caesar salad in Sudbury. Some serious garlic, huge hunks of fresh parm and crispy bacon done to perfection.
For mains we all kept it simple with back ribs or steaks. Sometimes, the most familiar item is the most satisfying. We shared a taste of each others food. The ribs were falling off the bone. Portions were so generous, we got to take some home. The steaks were melt-in-your-mouth. Side veggies nicely done.
A very simple meal done to perfection. Great value and excellent service with our man Jake, my buddy Chef Matt in the kitchen and overall a wonderful experience. I love this place. Highly recommended for any special event, or just when you feel like a treat. Tommy's never disappoints. One of the best spots in...
Read moreI met my lifelong friends from Timmins and Midland at the restaurant. I have been to Tommy's before and wanted my friends to have the same Wow experience that I had. We were not disappointed. Jake our waiter looked after our order and needs as if we were celebrities. We had lots of fun. The Chef's Food and presentation were off the charts! I show pics of 3 of dishes ordered. 2 seafood, salmon and shrimp dishes and my pork chop order. Zoom in! We did have dessert, bread pudding and the sorbet were excellent. The menu changes frequently. Our entrees were perfectly cooked. Tommy's Not Here is Sudbury's best kept secret! The Chef has something for all tastes. This is a great place to entertain a group or one on one with the...
