I used to live in the GTA and had access to some fantastic sushi places. There were well known places that were absolute dumps, run down dirty looking but the food was outstanding so everyone overlooked the state of these places.
This is not one of those places. I had previously had take out from here 2 previous times and the food was meh, mostly not fresh tasting fish. I really wanted to like this place because it's the closest Japanese restaurant to me. But after my in dining experience I won't be going back.
Like previous reviews stated the place is run down. The front area which is the first thing you see is not accessible to diners because the booths and seats are loaded with stuff.
The iPad I got to use to order had loads of gross dried food all over it. After closer inspection the tables were all wiped down with a very dirty rag as you could see the water streaks left behind.
As far as food went the tuna sushi I got was old or freezer burned. It had a slightly dirty taste which may not be rotten but it's not fresh. The salmon sushi I got right along with it was perfect. The rice in all the things I ordered was cooked perfectly. The edemame was ok but had too much salt. The terryaki eggplant had a weird texture the skin was tough and the meat was complete mush. The terryaki chicken was pretty good, the tuna and avocado Maki was decent. The hot and sour soup was great.
The wait staff was quick and efficient but don't come across as friendly no smilies etc. which when mixed with the atmosphere it makes you feel unwelcome.
The food here is mediocre and the state of the place tips this place into the not going back. I paid 31 for an all you can each lunch and it just wasn't worth it. If the place was clean and staff was friendlier I would probably give it another try but this just is not one of those places that has outstanding food that would let you overlook the dump...

Take absolutely zero responsibility for sending customers home with the wrong take out order. Cowardly owner will not speak to customers directly. make high school aged staff who obviously agree with the customer about the mistake take the brunt of upset customers. I've never been more embarrassed for a take out restaurants in my life. This is for anyone thinking of ordering. Make sure you confirm your order at take out because do eat accepts no responsibility for doing that. If you do get the wrong food make sure they remake your full order as I was only able to recover half of what we paid for because what they sent home with us in the mistake was good enough. They actually asked us to bring the food back during a pandemic. Are you kidding me?!?! Women owner who took my phone number and handed me wrong food refused to speak to me when I came back in to rectify the mistake. I can't leave an honest review on the sushi because we refused to eat it..the "remade" food we got sent with us was the food that got sent out to the other wrong customer who brought the food back. The reason I know this is because their phone number was on my meal and I called them to ask. This customer was called by do eat sushi and told they received wrong order and to bring it back.. so they did an it was the same food do eat sent out to us....meal that was already in another customers car and brought back into the restaurant. Obviously hours old not fresh... iv never been so upset in my life.. during a pandemic this resturant sent food out with a customer had them bring it back then sent out the same food to a different customer in order to save money on having to remake the food. Read moreMy friends and I have been coming here at least once every other week or so since it’s opened. The service is usually ok but not the friendliest of a taff. We went there for lunch today at around 1(we usually on do lunch) and it was the worst experience we have had. We were quite disappointed for being regular customers. After about the second order we put through, the female server (the usual one) started throwing our food and utensils onto the table instead of politely placing them down and with zero acknowledgement to us sitting there. This happened for the rest of our time being served. Then she approached us 40 minutes later and grabbed our iPad off the table and very rudely insisted it was last call and would not allow us to take the iPad back to make a final order. (It was not last calll as we come every week and it’s always at 3) She then did not give a receipt and instead directly put our orders into the debit machine and then would not give us a receipt for our purchase. Upon leaving, I had done the calculations and she charged each of us an extra $4 then what our bills should have been (I then went into my online banking and looked up our price last time because sometimes the calculations can be off and it confirmed that she did in fact over charge us).
