As a Chipotle regular and having gone to tons of different ones in Canada and the US having it be my favourite restaurant I was pretty excited for this new one in Guelph.
Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with this Chipotle compared to its standard see across all the other ones I’ve been too.
The portions were extremely small when compared to other Chiptole’s primarily with the rice and meat. Usually a bowl will totally fill me up but I was left needing more from this one. Additionally, the employees were stingy with the vinaigrette (salad dressing) that usually comes free with a bowl when asked for it (ive had a 100% success rate with this in the US) but for some reason they wanted $1.25 for it here.
The quality seemed to hold up although the chips seem different than the industry standard and lack salt and undercooked. Chipotle makes their chips in house by adding salt and oil - both weren’t done correctly and I won’t be buying them again.
The restaurant itself seemed standard although it was a huge mess. I don’t necessarily blame the employees as it was extremely busy, but it was straight up gross in there.
The one redeeming quality was the service as it was done quickly and effectively with good communication between employees.
Overall I will likely come back eventually although most definitely not often until they make some changes. When I say Chiptole is some of my favourite food of all time I mean it and I was originally planning coming in at least once a week. Now maybe once a month and it’s still much better than BarBurrito.

Read moreWent in today and the man about to make the burrito I watched do the cash, then put gloves on without washing hands first for the order before mine. (Touching the outside of gloves with dirty hands, it defeats the purpose of gloves, anywhere I've worked it's a health rule to wash hands first)
I watched him do a poor job at wrapping the burrito of the person was a head of me, looked like he was struggling a lot and took awhole I was pretty disturbed about the dirty gloves so, I asked for the girl who started my order to finish my order instead of him taking over when he tried. We'll she was doing mine he was making someone else's, and was reaching over her and his whole bare arm ended up touching my burrito. I didn't want someones dirty arm in my burrito, or arm hair in it. I ended up saying I don't want it anymore I'm going to just cancel the order. The girl was very polite.
Was just not up to my standards of sanitary. So, I went to fairveiw mall in Kitchener got Chinese food and everyone there as I watched do my food were up to standards.
I've never had this issue with the London, Missauga or Toronto Chipotles. I'm only giving 2 stars because the first time I went to this one everyone was great and I would of given 4 stars. But now I won't be returning and they should review training of cleanliness.
The man was polite and nothing against him personally it should be the management making sure everyone is aware of sanitary rules in a fast...

The place is a mess. I don't know if it's growing pains or what, but having been twice, once for a burrito and once for a bowl, I won't be back.
The burrito had one size option, only one type of tortilla (white) and very limited topping selection. Cheese, queso, and guac are all major upcharges to add. It wasn't bad, but if you've ever been to a smash burger place and paid $20 for just a mediocre sandwich with no side and no drink, then you know what the burritos here are like and the prices for them.
The bowl was worse. Staff were rude, and they would pretend not to hear or understand you if they made a mistake or forgot a topping. Ended up not finishing it because they made it not to my liking and wouldn't fix it. I assume it was management that was running the cash and they made you feel like you were a burden for being there.
We really are starved for Tex-mex options in Guelph that are quality, and it's close to campus estates so it'll get business, but man. What an overpriced and...
