Read moreFor those like me who loved the atmosphere and food of Williams Coffee Pub (before being renamed) of the past, do NOT have those expectations when going to this establishment.
Today when going for lunch, although I expected it to be busy with a lunchtime rush, I did not expect the degree of substandard service and quality.
The place was full to the brim, no seats available and yet the person taking orders and payment continued to ask, “Is this for here or to go?” When multiple people would then reply, “Are there any seats available?” The reply was, “It doesn’t seem like it. It’s really busy”. Why is it up to the diner to be aware if there are seats available? Should there be a host if it’s regularly this busy to maintain flow?
Adding to the disappointment, when I ordered three slices of carrot cake to go for my family, it was obvious immediately that they should not have been placed in this small box. I took this picture once I got home but it was in fact like this upon delivery to me. I did not want to address it because at that point, I just wanted to leave with my lunch that was forcibly made “to go” due to lack of seating.
Many people were sitting with dishes from prior diners on the table pushed to the side because there was no one going around to clean tables or collect dishes.
Between the three slices of carrot cake, a cappuccino, and a chicken cesar wrap I spent nearly $50 for a terrible experience. I will certainly not be returning to this location. This experience has also soured the whole franchise...
Read moreI and four of my friends went to Williams Cafe to study and eat food but left completely unsatisfied and frustrated. First, our food (a BLT bagel and a warmed-up croissant) took 30 minutes to be given to our table, which the server first gave to the other table but we were nice and understanding as it was busy. Our server repeatedly asked us if other customers' food was ours and couldn’t seem to remember what we ordered. When we finally did get our food my friend bit into her bagel only to start coughing before pulling out a FULL BREAD TAG from her greens. We were concerned and upset as this is not acceptable and easily could’ve gone to a child or elderly person causing a much bigger choking hazard. We called the waiter over and showed him the tag, he proceeded to touch the chewed tag and rudely asked if she still wanted to eat it or if she wanted another one. He was completely unsympathetic and barely apologized before refusing to give my friend a refund. He returned with her bagel 20 minutes later (which wasn’t even very good and fell apart) but unfortunately, she lost her appetite after waiting now over an hour to eat and choking. We approached one of the other servers to explain the situation and were met with more hostility and a complete lack of care for the safety of the customers. I am extremely disappointed in Willam’s Cafe which I previously enjoyed studying at but will likely not be returning to. The staff were truly unbothered by the situation and clearly did not value...
