I've been here a few times for friend gatherings and on karaoke night and on the jackboxd night. The room has a cozy feel to it but plenty of room and tables. They have a really nice table for larger groups up at the front by the window which is quiet and enjoyable. They also have lots of bar space and the washrooms are clean and don't have that sticky floor bar feel to them! They are a little ways up from the other bars in the area which may be why they are a little more quiet, but I don't mind that, although I'm sure the owner ( who is very nice) would love to see more traffic. They have a small stage to host events and everyone is very friendly. The food is reasonably priced with a selection of great sandwiches, wings and sweet potato fries and IPA on tap. For those with Celiac disease they have a dedicated fryer and seem very conscientious about food protocols which is a pleasant surprise. My only suggestions would be that they might want to consider having a larger television screen hung up on the wall- either at the back or somewhere for their game and karaoke night, as you have to sit almost right next to it to see it, and if there were more people in the bar, it would be impossible to participate. As well, on Wednesdays, it would be great if the nice karaoke hostess mixed the music and microphone a better as the music is super hard to hear up on the stage and people just hear the mic voice over the music in the audience. It presents the voices in a loud flat way for such a small space. But I highly recommend this little gem of a...

As avid fans of Barbecue Restaurants, and frequent restaurant visitors, Roguetrippers take pride in supporting our local businesses in Guelph. So, when we discovered a new Barbecue-style restaurant in the heart of Downtown Guelph, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to show our support. The day / Time we arrived - the restaurant was not overly busy - a few tables and a couple at the bar. The decor is a fancy dark smokehouse shack vibe.
We ordered Brisket, meatballs, Jack Fruit, Cornbread, and collard greens. The meats were tasty and well prepared. The Brisket had a bit too much fat for our liking, but the meat was super tender and tasty otherwise. The collard greens were perfect. The Jack Fruit - which, if you do not know - is a vegetarian version of pulled pork. The taste and texture definitely had a pulled meat consistency, and if you did not know it was jack fruit - you might not have guessed it wasn’t meat. The cornbread is super thick and high. Well done with great flavour. We love cornbread - this is the kind of cornbread you can make a meal from—a little maple butter. And barbecue sauce and you are set.
Prices were reasonable for a barbecue joint. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable - not pretentious at all. They offer a full cocktail bar of options.

Read moreFirst time there and it was lovely. Was an interesting atmosphere inside, I did like the look, and that there was an alternative sort of vibe and decor. We were in the patio at the back, which was a cute area between buildings. The menu items I thought looked appetizing, we were there for a beer and app so I didn't get to sample much but the meatballs were fantastic. And were real meatballs too. They weren't frozen and from a box. These were handmade. Very reasonably priced and the hands on service from may have been the owner was nice. People need to understand that a small business that is starting out will grow and evolve, so to expect Gordon Ramsay level perfection on opening night or in the first few weeks or months says more about the reviewer than it does about the business.
Also I love the emo music that was playing on the speakers from the 2000s, my millennial heart...
