Unfortunately our experiences at this place was not that great. I will agree with recent low rated reviews in the recent past.
To start with the filling in the samosas we ordered were bad (had a weird smell which indicates the samosas are spoilt). Upon letting them know the kitchen staff tested it and took it back. We did get the money refunded though.
Mint chutney: what they serve is not good. it is pretty common to mix mint chutney with yogurt for obvious reasons (which is not usually served with samosas) but the mint chutney to yogurt ratio was not right in my opinion. Yogurt was overpowering which make it more like a flavored yogurt rathe than a mint chutney.
Aloo Tikki: This was ordered specifically without yogurt as one of us cannot have diary. still the tikki was served with the mint chutney that has yogurt. This could be a serious health issue if consumed by someone who doesn't know the ingredient of the mint chutney. Staff should really pay attention to the order made.
Karak chai: Honestly the chai they server is really good but not karak chai though. it is a good cardamon chai. but what served as cinnamon chai should be avoided in my opining. ~ a tea spoon of cinnamon is added to the regular chai which is not dissolving and stay at the bottom undissolved which takes way the experience of drinking a good tea.
Overall I think quality of the food served can be improved to have the customers...

I’ve been a regular customer every time I visit Halifax, but today was the last time I’ll ever step into this place.
I ordered 2 samosa chaats and chai, and was charged $10.99 each. What I received was just plain samosas with chutney – no chana at all. When I asked the staff, she casually said, “We don’t have chana today.” That’s completely unacceptable. If you’re out of a key ingredient, you must inform the customer upfront, not take full payment for something you’re not even serving properly.
I asked for a refund, and she refused. Instead, she forced me to buy something else I didn’t even want, just to avoid refunding my money. That’s dishonest and unprofessional.
To top it off, the chai was stale and tasted like it had been sitting there for hours.
This kind of service and behavior is absolutely not okay. Overcharging, misleading, refusing refunds, and serving poor quality food – I’m shocked at how badly this place has declined. Never coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
The staff have zero knowledge about how to serve customers properly. It was clear they were not trained at all. The owner seriously needs to train the workers better if they care at all about customer experience.
Overpriced, poor service, and no respect for customers. This place has gone downhill and I won’t be returning. Definitely not...
Read moreI recently had the chance to visit this eatery, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The samosas were a highlight of my visit—perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a delightful blend of spices that really hit the spot. The aloo tikka chaat and samosa chaat were equally impressive, offering a flavorful and satisfying combination of textures and tastes. If you’re in the mood for Indian-style snacks, this is definitely a place to check out.
However, I was a bit disappointed with the falooda shake. Traditionally, it’s made with ingredients like vermicelli, jelly, rose syrup, sabja seeds, milk, and ice cream, but unfortunately, this version lacked both the vermicelli and sabja seeds, which are key elements that contribute to the authentic falooda experience. Instead, it felt like half of the shake was just whipping cream, which left me underwhelmed.
In terms of value for money, the samosas are reasonably priced at 3 for $6, though there’s an extra $1 charge for the tamarind chutney, which seemed a bit steep. The atmosphere is laid-back and cool, making it a great spot to hang out and enjoy snacks. However, parking is a challenge—there are only 3 spaces in front of the shop, and if those are taken, you’ll need to search for nearby pay parking, which can be a hassle.
Overall, it’s a great place for snacks, but the falooda shake could use some...
