Novalea Kitchen and Market — Restaurant in Halifax

Had heard good things about this place and decided to check it out while visiting Halifax on a day trip.

There were two tables (with dirty dishes) in the restaurant. We asked to eat in.

(We had no where to take ‘take-out’ ramen to, other than our vehicle.)

The response was ‘NO’.

Very surprised and disappointed.

Standing at the counter, we waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged, even after we made eye contact with two staff members who were not seated at the soiled tables. One was ‘busy’ on what sounded like a personal call while the other just ignored our presence. The tables were unoccupied and we were very clear that we didn’t expect any table service - just somewhere...

Did a food review on the Novalea kitchen market, which allows other businesses to come in and use the space . I seen a post on social media about comfort Halifax That runs their business there. I had the chicken tacos and Ramen. The tortillas were crispy and cheesy and chicken was tender and flavorful. It also came with Ajou sauce and homemade guacamole. It was a chicken Ramen with red onion, cilantro, and a carrot it was. There was so much chicken had a tiny bit of kick to it. It was full of flavor. This was my first time here and it was tasty. I had the tacos and a tried my moms oxtail and Mac and cheese. Id highly recommend this place. Imma go back next week and try something else. It truly is comfort food.
