A coworker of mine recommended this place and finding ourselves in the Hydrostone, we decided to pop in for lunch. We got there at the best time as they had just opened and we got a seat quite quickly. Everyone working there is so friendly - welcoming you as soon as you walk in! We sat in a corner booth and had a moment to take the place in. It's easy to tell this is a family run place; so much thought has been put into the decor and the overall layout. Good COVID measures (spaced seating, regular cleaning, good signage). Our server was awesome- asked if we had been before, walked us through the menu, made some suggestions. I joked about not seeing pineapple on the menu - I never eat pizza without it. His answer was quite cheeky and hilarious- something my english-humoured husband appreciated very much! We ordered garlic bread and a three topping pizza - both of which were unbelievable. The fresh herbs on the garlic bread took it over the top. The pizza toppings are significant quality - the ham alone had so much flavour! We highly recommend following their suggestions the first time (ie, no more than three toppings on a pizza) - because everything was so flavourful and tasty on its own it didn't need any help. I didn't even notice that pineapple was missing! My husband had never tried a cannoli so clearly he had to have one before we left. We reheated the rest of our pizza the next night and it was still just as good - the true sign of a good pizza. For those complaining about delivery - I get it; but, with pizza this fresh and made from awesome, real ingredients - the core of the business is great quality. Delivery is a service, and, I don't think it's fair to provide one star for a great product that was at the mercy of delivery. Make the drive to eat in or pick up. It's worth it!

Man, I feel so late to the party, but I'm so glad I finally came here. This truly might be the most New York feeling restaurant we have in Halifax. I absolutely adored the small, tightly packed seating, cool friendly service, and just how authentic it felt. I love how the extended community just packs in here on a Friday night and you get that buzz of chatter the whole time. I loved the packed sidewalk seating, and the way that the warm indoors looked from the outside windows, man, it would make you wanna pop in even if you had somewhere to be just to live life man The pizzas were absolutely excellent as well, and they even had my fav mints, as if they needed to try and make me like this place more. To be honest, even though the food was great, I'd rly come back for the cozy ny dine-in feeling, I'm just happy to now know that we have an instance of that here in our humble city.

Was my go to spot to impress someone and always spot on. Went tonight for my all time favorite, the toasted hero sandwich they've done for years. We'll today's a really sad day. Ordered two and after waiting after almost 20 mins for 2 sandwiches got home just 2 blocks away directly. Behind the business in the hydrostone and noticed they were ice cold. Not what I've ever gotten before. I sent my fiancee in after calling to return the original order and the guy said to keep them and he ran back my order even mentioned the specific veggies I didn't want. Waited another 15 to 20 mins and this time they were hot and toasted perfectly. But had all the veggies specifically mentioned on the order slip not to add. They offered to make another one but I took a refund. Probably would've not done a review of this nature had the person who dealt with my fiancee didn't try to convince her they were made correctly and the sandwiches are never hot lol. Man I've been eating these for years bud... not once did I get one with cold cheese and pepperoni. Thats why it's toasted and the reason I ordered it. Sadly I lost a favorite place to eat and that's like losing a first born child to a serious foody like me. Jeesh even a complimentary jar of yoir pizza sauce could've saved the day and kept a day one die hard customer for life. Literally drove from new brunswick and put seeing my family off to stop there and grab me and the wife a treat. Never again! Maybe an owner or manager could reach out and rectify the situation with a quick staff discussion about reading whats on the order especially when they fudged it up once. Take your time , do it right, and read the order slip. Was all...

We had heard great things about this place but sadly were left very disappointed in the whole experience. We had to wait for a table which is no problem as it was busy and understandable, it was about an hour (they told us 30 mins) but still we accepted that as it was supposed to be amazing pizza so hopefully worth the long wait. We were seated and given water, we ordered quick enough as well ( 4 small pizzas). After that though, we were left sitting. The server was not attentive at all, didn't check in, didn't offer more water, nothing. He walked by several times completely ignoring us and would stand behind the bar chatting with the MANY staff there. We had to wave him down to get more water. All of them seemed lost and just standing around waiting but not checking in on the customers who were waiting as well. We waited...and waited with two young children, luckily I brought snacks to give them. It took almost an hour to get our 4 small pizzas. Again, we hoped AT LEAST they would be great? Nope the worst restaurant pizza we have ever had. They overcooked all but one and some spots actually burnt, very dry and flavour was that of a frozen pizza. We quickly ate within minutes and left feeling still hungry and really frustrated. Terrible experience, terrible pizza. We won't...
