My fiancee and i headed into springhouse feeling already elated. I had been stressed about my suit for our quickly approaching wedding as I had made the mistake of ordering from indochino and they've been steadily messing up my suit ever since but on this day I had decided that I was going to get a properly made suit from Vogue Tailors on Gottingen and try to recoup my losses from my error later. I walked in here after my fitting with the elation of that stress being off my shoulders, knowing Nick is making a perfect suit, to try springhouse for the first time.
Let me tell you the food is amazing! We are both vegetarian so dining out is often limited choices but the food here is all plant-based. The space has a fresh and clean modern look to it, and the menu appeared to have ample selection. We opted to order take-out as my fiancee suggested we drink gin and I'd have to bring the car home so I ordered the noodle bowl and a loaded baked potato and the ordered the same potato and a rice and been wrap. A few minutes later they packaged the food up for us and we were on our way. The broth for the noodle bowl was packaged separately for take out so my food was perfect when I got home. The potato was a great consistency with great flavour and it has coconut bacon on it which, if you've never had it, tastes like coconut. It hit the spot and my fiancee enjoyed hers as well. The noodle bowl was terrific! The veggies were fresh and crisp, the noodles were cooked perfectly and the broth was delicious and hearty. The menu said umami and I definitely got that but I would add that heat was a prominent flavour note as well. The mushrooms in the broth were great as well. My fiancee enjoyed hers, but once she tried mine she said mine was better. I didn't try hers.
Pricewise springhouse is less than En Vie and the food is different but comparable in quality. All our food was under $40 before tip!!! I'll be back and likely I am going to make this one of my lunch spots at work, too bad my dear fiancee...
Read moreWe're omnivores. I tried two meals from Springhouse purchased through the Too Good To Go app and we loved them. After having poor to mediocre experiences with grocery boxes (Hello Fresh and Good Food) we decided to try the weekly meal bundle from Springhouse.
Wow.
For under $50 we get three prepared meals every Sunday. We've been receiving them for the past 4 weeks and haven't had a meal we don't enjoy yet. We don't eat out much so this is our weekly treat. Each meal is supposed to be a single serving but my husband and I split them and they feed two of us. Sometimes we add a side salad or garlic bread but we find the Springhouse main course is enough to satisfy both of us.
I love that the meals are fresh. I love that they are vegan (even though we're not committed vegans). I love that they don't come with a lot of plastic and cardboard we have to recycle. I love that Springhouse is a small local business and we can support them. The staff are lovely and already know who we are even though we've only been customers for 4 weeks.
If you're looking for tasty, healthy premade meals I recommend you...
Read moreAbsolutely Amazing Customer Service! I was looking to deliver a special treat to a friend for her birthday while in quarantine. There was a small glitch in the online system which would only recognise my order as a pick up. I reached out to customer service via the online chat, not expecting to receive a response until working hours. Moments later I received a text and the staff member was extremely helpful and patient working out an alternate method to ensure my order could be placed. I was only ordering a small single item but they went above and beyond (an hour of her time to be exact) to ensure my friend could receive her gift. They also including a special message. Thank you Springhouse for going that extra mile! Your efforts don't go...
