Do not go to Freshii. TERRIBLE service. I never write reviews, but this location has the worst service of any business I have ever seen. I purchased a burrito today for the first time ever at Freshii Scotia Square...you have to pay for extra protein and I told them I did not want any as I am vegetarian and the black beans that came in the burrito were fine. They ended up giving me one with chicken and I didn't notice until about half way through the burrito! Let me just point out that this place offers to be a great option for vegans and vegetarians.... Anyway, as I haven't eaten meat in years I was quite turned off and asked for my money back. I had just opened my Perrier and also set that down. The manager there (didn't get her name but she had brown hair and glasses) refused to refund for the whole meal. "The burrito is the only thing wrong with it so that's all I am refunding for" is what she said. She was very nonchalant about the fact that she just fed me chicken and very unapologetic. She seemed like she was annoyed by the fact that I was even complaining about this. Another thing I will mention is that my coworker was behind me in line. She asked if they had any specials on. The girl at the cash answered "yes burritos for 7$ but it's over at 12:30". The time was 12:33! This place is a joke and has the worst customer service I have ever seen. I am...
Read moreGood food court. Good dollarama. Mediocre Scotiabank. No other reason to be in this building. Ever. Good spot to stop for lunch especially if you are taking the bus. Also i lied there is one other reason. Its easier to rake the escalator/elevator than walking from the bottom where the buses drop you off rather than climbing the hill on foot. Fair warning. It closes way too early. Its illegal to linger in the mall area after six. Even though the upper entrance is always open. the lower entrance is locked from the outside by 6pm only thing open in Halifax after six is the bars and the crack dealers and that one McDonald's that's open "24hours" except for the three and a half hour that they are closed for cleaning. Gets two stars instead of one because its actually a nice place to overpay for lunch but unless you need a very fancy hat for under five dollars from the dollarama which other than that has basically no selection. There is basically no other reason to be here. Even the public restrooms stop being public after 6pm. Would be zero stars if not for...
Read moreScotia Square is a very convenient spot in downtown Halifax with a good variety of shops, services, and food options under one roof. It’s great for grabbing a quick bite, running errands, or just staying warm in winter while walking through downtown. The food court has lots of choices and it’s handy having pharmacies, banks, and even some government services right there.
On the downside, it does get crowded at times, and unfortunately there are often issues with homeless individuals hanging around inside, sometimes causing a bit of a nuisance or even stealing from stores. Security staff seem to do what they can, but mostly they’re limited to asking people to leave, which doesn’t always solve the problem.
Overall, it’s a practical mall with lots of essential services, but it would definitely be more comfortable if these safety concerns were...
