This restaurant has a feature not many others do; to simply google it, bpress 'order', make a selection, select a pickup time, and pay. It took me 3 minutes to order lunch. I found it a bit expensive, but certsinly on par with competitor prices. My 20-piece maki combo rang it at about $22 plus tax, so a little more than $1 per bite.
The food was 5 minutes late for my pickup window. This - I forgive. It was peak lunch time so I understand, and they offered a free soda to apologize for the delay. I was treated like I mattered.
The food was fresh, generously portioned, and delicious. Definetly made by a professional. I will have to try something different next time I go, and I'll definetly be back sooner than later.
The only thing I didn't like was the layout of the restaurant. There are two floors, the main floor had the traditional chefs station for greeting custimers and like 5 tables which were right by the door. The remaining (10?) tables were upstairs. It felt awkward and cramped.
It's in a strip mall so lots of parking and is wheelchair accessible.
Otherwise, great spot. See you again soon. Probably this weekend, as long as you don't tell my wife I'm doing sushi...
Read moreWent to the clayton park one, horrible service. We were there with another couple and we all ordered something different. Like beef rice and chicken rice etc. They just dropped it on the table not even staying long enough so we could ask what it was. Had to ask to get a refill on water. On the 2nd order as it is all you can eat, it never showed up and it was about 2pm and they close @ 230. A person in our group went up and asked where it was and they searched for our paper and buddy found it with whiteout on it. The tip here is included in the price and they have the machine set to ask for more. I would have given them nothing for that service. But i guess they dont care if they are getting a tip anyway. The chicken was dry and noodles overcooked. The beef was fantastic. Oh and if you do decide to go. Make sure you bring enough cash as if you pay with debit its about another $4-5. Which seems to me a way for them to get paid in cash so it can stay off record. Now that could be way out there but im a little cranky at my experience. Out of the 6 of us that were there. we all had the same feeling. avoid the clayton park one. not sure how the...
Read moreService was good. affordable prices. food was palatable but disappointing.
I went here last night with a friend. Service throughout was great, staff was very attentive and our food came quickly. We ordered a combination of salmon and vegetable sushi rolls, sashimi, and karaage chicken. The chicken was cut into very small pieces so it got overly crispy and dry when fried. The result was tough, chewy and disappointing. Our sushi rolls were okay but ultimately disappointing. While flavour profiles were good the fish seemed to be of poor quality and was not well cut. The coloration of the salmon was more grey than normal and the fish took considerable effort to chew through, not the melt in your mouth you expect at a good sushi restaurant.
We also ordered draught beer that was poorly poured. It came without a head and was overly carbonated. Drinking half the beer left me feeling bloated.
While the food was disappointing, for a sushi restaurant in a strip mall this is all fine. Service is quick and prices are reasonable. All in all fine for a quick lunch, but I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant...
