This is the most polarizing review I’ve ever written because the food is amazing but the ordering experience and customer service left a taste in my mouth that not even garlic sauce can get rid of. A lot of it I’m going to chalk up to being a new business with a new team still ironing out the kinks but one particular issue rubbed me the wrong way.
We ordered two regular chicken on rocks (Lazeez on the Rocks). I began to rhyme off what toppings I wanted and was quickly cut off, “Sauces?” “Oh. Extra garlic sauce and hot, please.”
My partner then tried again to address which toppings we wanted but was told toppings would be handled at the other counter. Okaaaay…
We paid and then watched our order get assembled, patiently waiting to be prompted for toppings… it never came.
My partner inquired about the toppings and then we were told, “Toppings are an extra charge.” I replied, “The charge isn’t an issue. We would have paid. We weren’t given the opportunity to include toppings.”
This is where things go sideways and we got a lecture on the side of our order. Words were exchanged between the team to assess what went awry, and then we were informed, “Next time, you need to tell us you want toppings.”
Hang on, what? We were more than ready to ask for toppings—in fact, I had.
I was annoyed at this point, and this is where I realized lines were getting crossed by the person who took our order—the shawarmas come with toppings at no cost, the on the rocks orders do not. Said individual who not only took our order but was now assembling the shawarma, never spoke up and took accountability.
The resolution was the coup de grace.
“I can give you 3 toppings but don’t go over board.” This wasn’t the favour it sounds like it was. It was borderline infuriating after everything.
I don’t appreciate being lectured on how I’m supposed to order, I’m not behind the counter, and I was prepared to tell you exactly what we wanted. If how I was doing it was less than ideal, guide me through your preferred ordering process—but don’t lecture me, particularly when there’s a very guilty looking individual who should have fessed up that they...
Read moreCame all the way from downtown Toronto where I work to grab a bite before I got home and take advantage of the $5 deal since I haven't had shwarma in a long time. It was about 11.30 when I got there and was asked what I would like so I pointed to the big sign in the window that says $5 ALL DAY on select items. That's when the lady working told me 3 different stories as to why I cannot get that, first it started with her saying it was done at 10pm. (Last time I checked the day doesn't end at 10 or does it specify that in the advertisement) then she said she ran out of stock but then I asked so u have no food and she replied yes we have but if you want those meals it's regular price. Then she turned around and said it was the owners decision to make it until 10pm so not sure if she's lying about the deal or the owners decision or trying to make extra money in her pocket or its false advertising. Either way seems very suspicious and will not be going back to this location very...

This place has gone downhill in a hurry...the last three times I've gone and asked for lentil rice its been crusty and stale. On top of the measured sized portions of chicken and lack of garlic sauce I think I'm officially done with Lazeez and Osmows...Franchising have killed the golden goose and they plain suck now.
Having grown up beside the original Lazeez in Mississauga I was spoiled for access to great shawarma!
Sadly since moving to Georgetown I have been dismayed by the quality of Osmows and while shawarma alley was a better alternative to osmows it still doesn't hold a candle to Lazeez! The prices are fair, the amount of food you get is Amazing and the people who work there are super friendly, can't tell you how happy I am to finally get great shawarma again !
Thanks Lazeez!
Protip* Shawarma on the rocks with lentil rice and add Feta...
