Great bubble tea, ok pho.
Pros: great bubble tea and price, excellent fresh rolls, good tasting pho, Vietnamese restaurant in Georgetown! Yay!
Cons: pho size vs cost, no extra bean sprouts or basil on the side
We’ve been few a few times know, twice during the soft opening and once after the full opening.
We have had the bubble tea several times and my family and I agree it is the best we’ve had. Great flavours, good sizes and good pricing.
Their fresh spring rolls are to die for, they are easily the best fresh rolls at any Pho restaurant we’ve had.
Sadly however I’m ultimately disappointed in the pho itself. The taste is good but the portion size is really small (we got the regular size) when compared to other restaurants and it’s not as if the taste is any better or worse, it’s on par. What kills it for me however is the lack of extras. At every other pho restaurant we are always given a large portion of basil leaves and bean sprouts. It was not the case here, a small amount in the bowels is all we were given (I did not ask for extra). While this might seem nit picky, I really enjoy lots of bean sprouts and basil in my soups and when the lack of those combined with the significantly reduced portion size, I don’t find the pho soup to be worth it.
That said, if you just wanted some fresh rolls and great bubble tea, definitely try this place. If you just want a large bowl of pho with all the trimmings,...
Read moreI tried the braised beef rib pho (pho suon bo) for lunch yesterday and I was genuinely impressed with the authenticity of the beef bone marrow broth. It was super tasty, zesty, and flavourful! I wish the beef rib was more tender but nonetheless, the portion size of the meat was satisfying with a good meat to fat ratio. I also tried their spring rolls but forgot to take a picture because of how delicious it was! They were crispy with a good amount of filling without tasting too oily.
It can be challenging to find authentic Vietnamese/Asian restaurants, especially in smaller 'countryside' cities like Georgetown compared to the bigger cities--Toronto, Scarborough, Markham, Richmond Hill, Mississauga and a bit of Brampton. But V Eatery - BBTea truly surprised me.
Menu selction is limited and the interior dining area is small but the restaurant itself has a nice, cozy, and welcoming ambience to it. There's also a patio available on the property for outdoor dining and plenty of parking spots in the back. Pricing was reasonable and service was quick and efficient. I would definitely come back to try other menu items when I'm...
Read moreWe usually come here for the beverages, and in terms of food I've only had the vermicelli noodle bowls. However, this was the first time having their pho noodle bowls and we were rather disappointed in the sweet broth. We've had our fair share of pho bowls throughout the GTA much to our delight, expecting savoury, salty rich broths. But to come to a local place and consume a sweet broth pho with nothing to balance it was off-putting. The provided lime and hoisin sauce did nothing to alleviate, and only made the flavour worse. I want to give the benefit of the doubt that perhaps our bowl wasn't intended to be sweet, or simply this place prefers the broth that way.
That aside, the Fresh Spring Rolls with the pork filling came to stand out over the disappointing pho. Mixing the peanut butter and hoisin sauce together made to be a delicious addition.
The beverages stand to be the main takeaway of V Eatery, and with our most recent visit, that will continue to be what we...
