Me and my friends went here together as we were excited to see a Korean restaurant opening up in Georgetown! We all got corndogs and their house pineapple ade. The pineapple ade was fantastic! Tasted very refreshing, zesty and not too sweet - which is high compliments from an Asian lol. Their corn dogs were good as well! Very filling and cheese had a nice stretch to it! We added potatoes as our topping, and topped it with sugar, mustard and ketchup. Highly recommend this combo! The one thing I would complain about is the price is a little expensive especially for a student such as myself. I do love the atmosphere though. They had a large screen tv playing kpop which, love! And their space was filled in the back with so many Asian snacks and they even had ice cream! They also are the first place in Georgetown or anywhere for that matter I've seen serve instant ramen! I'm very excited to try that out for lunch someday. They not only serve Korean corn dogs, but also Korean fried chicken which I've heard is quite good, Korean rice cakes which I'm excited to try, and also their bingsu which sounds so refreshing especially since summer is right around the corner! The owner was very friendly and talkative and super nice! As an Asian in a predominantly white town such as Georgetown, it felt really nice to finally have a space where I felt very much at home in. I can't wait to visit again...
Read moreGreat Service! The person working knew the menu well, took the time to explain my options as it was my first time in. Accommodated an allergy by making a dessert without a specific ingredient. Rice dog itself was good, in general I’m not myself a huge fan(of rice dogs), but it was well cooked, flavourful and definitely a fan would absolutely love it. Spicy Dino nuggies were ok, imo might be better with a dipping sauce rather than coating them, as they loose their crunch, but sauce was pleasant. Dessert was good, wife enjoyed it. Again, the person helping was A+, even went above and warned me the spicy mayo was “very spicy” which for my palette meant it was bland. The gentleman asked if I really like hot, he had something special. He had a homemade jar of Carolina reaper sauce that he asked if I would like to try, and of course I obliged. The sauce was awesome! Flavourful, and was actually hot! Ended up dunking my dino nuggies and most of the rice dog in it. He should package it in small batches and sell it o the side for the people that are a little more brave with their spice tolerance. Place was clean, bright, inviting. Parking may be a tad of an issue if it’s gets busy, but you can park across the street on evenings and weekends with ease and...
Read moreChickens are beautiful birds. They live simple lives, but still can understand love and care. They can learn to be friends even with humans, and make surprisingly good pets.
Chungchun's "Tongdak" item, a whole chicken, marinated, breaded, and roasted to perfection, had me gorging gluttonously from the moment I recieved it. The chicken was cooked thoroughly yet still soft and tender. The skin was crisp and fatty, with a satisfying crunch and flavor. The sauces were a perfect pairing, except that I couldn't stop myself from eating the chicken long enough to properly dip it first.
This feast was enough that, for a moment I forgot what it was I was eating and partook of the flesh with only my gluttony guiding me. The noble chicken, exalted by the restaurant's cooking, I defiled and tore asunder, and left nothing but a pile of bones.
The portion is a little bit smaller than the $30 price tag should command, but cooked so well that it more than makes up for it.
I pray to the Patron Saint of Chicken...
