King George pub isn’t just bad — it’s a full-blown embarrassment to the entire concept of hospitality. Every second spent inside that sad excuse for a restaurant feels like punishment for believing in basic human competence.
The kitchen clearly has no chef — just a bunch of microwave jockeys slinging out freezer-burned garbage with all the finesse of a sledgehammer. The servers stumble around like they’re lost in their own building, as if taking an order and delivering it properly is some mythical art form they never learned.
Waiting 40 minutes for a plate of soggy, lifeless food and a warm beer isn’t "service" — it’s customer abuse. Every plate they send out is a grim reminder that standards, pride, and even basic decency have left the building long ago.
If mediocrity were a sport, King George would still be dead last. This place shouldn’t even have a license to operate, let alone charge people real money for the privilege of experiencing their staggering incompetence.
In short:
Food? Trash.
Drinks? A joke.
Service? Nonexistent.
Atmosphere? Like waiting to get audited.
Value? You'll pay for the privilege of disappointment.
King George is not a restaurant. It's a...

King George in Hess Village is one of the worst dining experiences I've ever encountered.
The drinks are consistently watered down, and even worse, they regularly charge for drinks you never ordered — a shady practice that many other reviews also highlight. This isn’t a one-time mistake; it’s a pattern.
The food is cold, poorly executed, and completely lacking any pride or attention. Every dish feels like an afterthought, thrown together without the slightest care for quality.
The service is equally terrible, and the root cause is clear: management is a joke. Positions are clearly given to friends of the owner, not to qualified professionals. There is no leadership, no organization, and absolutely no accountability. Staff are left to stumble through a broken system, and customers pay the price.
This restaurant is not just poorly run — it is actively taking advantage of guests through dishonest billing, subpar service, and low-effort food.
This place should be investigated, not reviewed.
Stay far away. There are dozens of better options in Hess that actually respect...
Read moreI seen recently on Facebook, the King George advertising their food online. They have different specials through the week, can order online and pickup. Apparently I was the 1st online customer ever? I ordered one Friday’s Special Fish & Chips (Haddock) with coleslaw and wedge lemon. Tarter sauce additional charge $1.50. The Fish & Chips go for $11.00 on Fridays + $5.00 for extra piece of fish (Special). Had to wait a bit, friendly atmosphere, music/entertainment was being set up when I was picking up. Around 9:00 P.M. Bartender on duty this evening was friendly and very accommodating. Food ready in about 10-15 minutes, buddy at bar was having a burger platter with fries at bar, it looked real good. Took home and enjoyed the meal, split it with my wife, she also enjoyed it. My only draw back it isn’t really accessible if driving, as I have 2 bad knees and walking is an issue. But that’s my problem, I’d still return. Small cozy atmosphere when...
