update: as of May 15, 2024, Tims has done absolutely nothing about this situation. The worker involved still works at this location, and STILL continues to treat customers like trash.
original review: Majority of the workers at this location are miserable and rude every time I go in. There's a couple workers who are relatively nice or nice enough but they are hard to come by at this location.
Recently had a particularly ridiculous encounter with one of the workers on March 10, 2024 around 2pm. She was tall, dark hair, brown eyes, olive/tan skin, young - prob between 20-30 years old. She was unpleasant during the entire interaction, although my mom and I treated her respectfully until she got out of hand. She had no manners to begin with (i.e., no please, no thank you, no smiles, just misery), but that's something that's tolerable, though unpleasant. However, it's much worse than a lack of manners on her part.
My mom and I were in the drive thru, and she nearly dropped the sandwich on the ground when she was handing it to my mom, but not in a "oops.. I am so sorry, that was accidental" way, rather, in a, "get out of my face" way (again, without reason). Despite her almost dropping the sandwich before my mom grabbed it (and not apologizing for doing so), we did not say a single word about her carelessness. Then she closed the window, and my mom handed me the sandwich so she could put the car into drive. As my mom is putting the car into drive, the same worker opens the window for a brief moment, knowing we are still there, and goes "can you drive away", as if we weren't already planning on it. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I have never in my life heard a worker say this in a drive thru.
Then my mom responded by saying something along the lines of "pardon me? I am putting the car in drive", and the worker goes "you're making our drive thru time longer"... 1) as if a customer would or should care about your drive thru stats 2) we were literally there for 10 seconds after she closed the window the first time. My mom proceeded to say "the reason your time is so long is because of how long you take to serve the customer, not because I am taking 5 extra seconds to put the car into drive". We drove away and I got dropped off to where I was going. My mom ended up returning to the store because she wanted to discuss the incident with the branch owner, but the owner was not there. My mom was not even talking to this evil lady from the drive thru, she was talking (again, politely) to another Tims employee. The lady from the encounter was still there, and she intervened on this conversation that she was not a part of and acted absolutely deranged, in front of all her coworkers (who seemed mortified by their colleague's madness) and a line of customers. She started mouthing off, and then when my mom said that she was recording, the lady threatened to SLAP my mom. I am still in disbelief.
I get that working in customer service or food service is not exactly a treat, and I also understand that people have bad days, but being this rude unprovoked is concerning and unnecessary. If your job really makes you this miserable, then maybe work elsewhere, or go to therapy, or learn how to play pretend and be a decent human being who does not treat customers like trash and threaten to slap them. There is no reason to behave this way, and then act innocent about it. I have worked in customer service for 5 years, and could never justify treating another human being like this.
I feel so bad for the workers there that are relatively nice; I could not imagine going into work everyday and working with people who sound homicidal, miserable and unnecessarily rude when talking to their customers. I have never seen a customer at this location be rude to the workers, but I have seen multiple customers who are extremely nice / well-mannered get treated like dirt, on multiple occasions.
The workers at this location being rude is a common theme in these reviews, & it's clear that nothing has been done about it. Wish I could...
Read moreHORRIBLE, ABUSIVE customer service. The female employee at the drive thru window was just plain nasty. After waiting longer than normal for my coffee and sandwich, when she handed me the sandwich, she let go of it before I had it in my hand and I had to catch it to keep it from falling to the ground. As I handed the items to my passenger and put my car in drive, she opened the drive thru window again and told me to hurry up and move, that they have timers running that they have to meet, gesturing as if shooing me away. My passenger and I were shocked by her ignorance and disrespect…it’s the customer’s fault that they took too long to fill my order??? After I dropped my passenger off, I returned to the Tim Horton’s and went inside this time. I asked to speak with the owner or manager, but was told they were not in. I told the person I was speaking with that I would like to know when would be a good time to return to speak with them, as I wanted to report my dissatisfaction with the unprovoked rudeness of the employee. At that time, the girl on the drive thru came over to interrupt, saying more rude and inappropriate things, including that she will SLAP me! At which point the other employees intervened and pulled her away. All in front of a long lineup of customers behind me. That employee is an evil demon and should not be...
Read moreIn my entire 40 years I have never ever been treated and yelled at the way I was treated by Tim Horton at this location! It was simply because I ordered Iced cap and the lady heard Iced Coffee. She was rude and told me that I should have paid attention when she repeated the order! Me, my husband and my son who is a 3rd year student at MaMaster did NOT hear her repeat the order so there was no way we made a mistake. She kept talkong rudely as if I made the greatest mistake in the world! I was so baffled! I asked her why she wss talking so rudely and she said I could go to other location if I did not like the service. I paid the difference but was denied food and the window was kept shut for 3 minutes!! The name of the girl who yelled and treated us rudely, I was told she was the Manager and she was arrogant enough to tell me her name was Rupender. I go to Tim Hortons all over GTA, this is not a service and attitude I expected from a Manager of Tim Horton! No one else came to stop her or to apologize. I am still numb and cannot figure our what happened! Wednesday, Aug...
