This is a mixed review. Let me start by saying the food here is generally awesome. We are usually happy with the taste and portions. We keep going back for more!
But each time I go back, there is usually one thing that happens that makes me question if I should ever go back.
For example, some times I’ve went after ordering online, just to find the order hasn’t even started being made, and have to wait a ridiculously long time. One time I was watching them make my order, and saw the very last bits of hummus being scraped out the bottom of a tin (which is fine, a restaurant needs to minimize waste) on to the side of my rice box, but when I got home I found that hummus smelled very bad to the point I didn’t think it was safe to eat and had to toss it. But whatever. That was fine. A little irritating, but not a big deal. Again, the food tastes so good that you’re willing to overlook some things.
But unfortunately this time getting food there made me question if I will ever go back. I had a simple order of two wraps. One to be made spicy and one not. I carefully watched them make both wraps, and noticed no hot sauce was put in either wrap. So I got someone’s attention and reminded them that one wrap was supposed to be spicy. That person reminded the person making my wraps that one is supposed to be spicy. They were reminded multiple times. But still they just finished the wraps as they were. Completely ignoring the instructions. And by the final time they were reminded that one was supposed to be spicy, they had already finished wrapping them in paper. And the solution was to just give some hot sauce on the side. Now this would have been completely fine, if they had just owned up to the mistake, and just talked to me about it. It’s not a big deal to say “hey we’re sorry, we forgot to add hot sauce in the one wrap, do you mind if we just give you the sauce on the side.”But instead, one wrap was “marked” as spicy, and I was flat out lied to straight to my face that yes, the marked one is made spicy. I even deliberately asked when being handed my order and once again was told yes, the marked one is spicy. And I know for a fact he knew it wasn’t spicy because he is the one that added a side of hot sauce into the bag.
I can put up with a lot. But deliberately being lied to is where I draw the line.
Bottom line. Food is great. Service...
Read moreI don’t ever really write reviews on restaurants unless they are consistent with their food quality and standards. So with that being said, this is the third time I’ve ordered with Timmy’s and I definitely need to acknowledge this place. My husband and I order the same thing every time (we don’t really like change lol) and every single time with the two kebabs and rice it is ABSOLUTELY perfect. They don’t miss. The food that comes out of their kitchen is obviously made with love and care because they never let a bad plate go out. I’m not big on rice. At all. But this rice, I can eat all day, every day. They put a type of red sauce on it and a white sauce too. But it’s not what you think. It’s not the typical shawarma red and white sauce you get when you order a wrap or a plate. It’s savoury red sauce with tomatos and a little bit of kick. The white sauce seems yogurt based and it pairs absolutely perfect with the rice. And the rice, isn’t your typical white rice. It seems marinated in a way that is exploding with flavour just on its own. And don’t even get me started on the kebabs!!!! They’re juicy and big and packed full of flavour. And they give you two massive kebabs! TWO! This meal is not only filling but absolutely delicious and I’ve been addicted to Timmy’s Tanur since the moment I tried it the first time. Whether you’re dining in, taking out, using Uber eats or door dash, this restaurant will NEVER disappoint. They even throw in a delicious pita to make sure you’re full! Absolutely wonderful! I recommend this place to everyone...
Read moreTHE BEST TASTING middle eastern food outside of Toronto and even better value! If you havent tried Timmy's yet...YOU HAVE TO TRY IT!! This is as good as it gets for real food!!
Ordered Timmy's in Hamilton two weeks ago for the first time, as wife and I were looking to avoid cooking after a long day. $49.99 for the Family of Four meal seemed like a 'good' price, and we've had middle eastern in the past, so we figured 'why not'....AND WOW WHAT A SURPRISE!!!
First...about the amount of food...could not believe it! Absolutely fed 2 adults and 3 children with leftovers remaining. Haven't seen this much takeout food for $50 in a long time!!!
Second...the quality...AMAZING!! Everything was fresh, made to order...and despite the fact that we had a hour long drive home, the food was still warm and fresh. The taste was flavorful, and well balanced, nothing overpowering or underwhelming. It's just really good food, clearly made with love and care.
We JUST ordered from Timmy's again for the 2nd time...and they DO NOT DISAPPOINT! The exact same quality and care we saw the first time, was still there this time. Timmy's is 1000% one of our few all time fav takeouts now!
