Williams Fresh Cafe — Restaurant in Hamilton

I’ve been a loyal patron of Williams for nearly 7 years, and it’s always been my go-to spot for excellent food, delightful drinks, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The servers and cashier have always been top-notch, bringing a personal touch that makes every visit special. The quality of the food and drinks remains impeccable, which is a testament to the amazing staff who work here.

However, over the past week or so, I’ve noticed some unsettling changes. The layout of the café has suddenly been altered, and it no longer has that cozy, familiar feel that I loved so much. The new arrangement seems disjointed and doesn’t quite capture the charm that made this place unique.

What’s more concerning is seeing the usually calm and collected employees looking stressed and rushed, trying to handle what appears to be a series of ongoing issues. The energy in the café has shifted dramatically over an extremely short period of time, and it seems like everyone is constantly putting out fires instead of being able to provide the relaxed, enjoyable experience we’ve come to expect.

I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, but I sincerely hope that Williams can address these issues soon. This place holds a special place in my heart, and I would love to see it return to the wonderful haven it used to be. I used to work as a supervisor for William's Fresh Cafe from 2022-2024. I took a leave for Co-op (program mandated) and was promised a position would be mine to return to when I came back after my 2-month term. However, when I returned new management and ownership had taken over, and they were accommodating at the beginning by re-interviewing me and suggesting they would hire me back on as a supervisor for the coming school term. However, things seemed to take a turn for the worse when they implemented unrealistic changes making the work environment much harder to work in. When the staff suggested improvements, they would blatantly ignore them - by stating that they knew better because they had been trained at the head office in Burlington. Following these complaints, many of the old reliable staff that I was very close friends with were either fired or quit - and the management informed me I would not have my job back. I inquired about a reason, which they could not provide me, simply stating that I was "never re-hired." I am very disappointed with how the new management is treating the team and our old regular customers (who have since stopped coming around). Although the food is still tasty - and I would recommend the Chicken Pesto Sandwich, I would stay away from the Butter Chicken dish that the new owners have recently tried...

A man was recording me for perverted reasons clearly for over 10 minutes. I proceeded to tell the staff and showed them proof, they said they would remove him. I waited 20 minutes and he was not removed. I looked over to see him recording me again the moment he saw me, as I was bending down to hide from him. I will never come back to this place because he should've been removed immediately no questions after the proof. This is beyond disappointing and I had to leave before he did making me feel so unsafe. I'm a very small freshly 18 yo girl wearing a Disney shirt with an adolescent face. He was recording me for disgusting reasons and this man has 1000% recorded other women. He was far too comfortable doing this for so long. They said they would remove him then 20 min later proceeded to tell me they needed the owners permission to get a creepy man recording young women. There should be already regulations and approval to remove anyone who does this. This place knew a man was recording me and didn't do anything about it. This restaurant being next to a college full of young girls should always be allowed to remove a creep.
