Wimpy's Diner — Restaurant in Hamilton

Went in on Sunday the 22nd of June. Staff has changed and not for the better. To start off it was 46C outside and they didn’t have the AC on just some $5 fan which all that did was blow more hot air around. The waitress was not pleasant at all no hey how you guys doing, just hands the menus and what do you want to drink. I ordered a wrap and my partner ordered pancakes with blueberries, you would assume the blueberries would a) be mixed in with the batter or b) be on top of the pancakes. Instead it looked like he forgot there was supposed to be blueberries in it and then just whipped them in well it was cooking and I don’t mean with a whisk I mean threw them. But aside from appearance they tasted fine not a big deal. I took a bite of my wrap and then noticed 3 distinct greasy fingerprints on it. I waited a few minutes assuming the waitress would come check how things were but no I had to go get her and I wasn’t rude or anything I just simply said there’s fingerprints on my food. She comes over looks and says oh no that’s not fingerprints it’s from the flat top, I put my hand against the spots to show her that no these are perfect fingerprints. She said nothing and went and grabbed some other guy that I assume was the manager but in all honesty he didn’t look like it, he looked like he had just walked in off the street. He comes over and starts arguing with us it’s the flat top it’s this it’s this it’s that never even offered to remake the food just arguing. My partner asked for the bill, cause we were just gonna leave and go somewhere else. For better context I had taken a single bite from the wrap and my partner had maybe 3 bites of the pancakes. Dude comes back with a full priced bill, we told him we’re not paying that, we would pay for the drinks and even the pancakes but absolutely not paying for the wrap and he started to argue again, oh you have to pay I can’t do anything about it blah blah blah, I said pay for what I haven’t eaten it I’m not going to eat it I’m not paying for it. At this point he starts getting loud and goes well what’s wrong with that (referring to the pancakes) my partner said nothing but if you aren’t remaking that I’m not eating this and we’re leaving. After the other customers started looking he finally goes im so sorry about that we’ll remake it. Which is all I wanted in the first place. Now you can see the kitchen area from the dining room, and I watched them a) clean the grill b) go wash his hands for the first time since we’d been there. New wrap arrives and it was perfectly fine but at this point we’re feeling sick from the heat, we’re appalled by the horrible service. I ate a bit just to not be starving we asked for a takeout box and the bill. The waitress brings the bill and the debit machine we pay she looks at the bill sees that there was no tip because after that kind of service absolutely not and then just walks away not even a have a nice da. We will never be returning to this wimpys which is sad because it used to...

Let me start by saying i have been eating at this location ever since it opened back when the owner, Sam's daughter Samantha worked there and did her Walmart commercial. (shows i have been going there a long time) It was always a nice place to go but no longer the case. I was not going to write a review at that time i just started going to other places. But what happened there last Monday May 8th changed that.

Back last fall i entered at 6:50 pm for the all you can eat fish and chips. My order was taken right away but did not receive it until 7:25. I reordered at 7:40 but was informed by my server that the cook had ran out of batter and out right refused to make more... her words. When i as well as other customers complained they made more but i didn't get more fish till 8:10. When the order was delivered i was informed they closed at 8 and i had to "eat fast" so they could leave. I asked if i could take it home but she said because it was not my 1st order i could not. I had to leave it there and was charged full price for food i didn't get.

I have not been there since that day but last Monday at 11:30 i decided to give them another try. Walked in for breakfast and found i was the only customer there, good thing i thought. The server came to wipe the table off and very rudely said move your arm no please, excuse me, nothing. She then went to the back and proceeded to stand there and had a conversation with another server about her weekend. With her not returning to take my order i got up and walked out.

Sam its time you give your staff a reality check or you are going to continue to lose more and more customers. Its to bad because the staff here used to be awesome.

I now drive right past your front door to go to the Barton Street location which is new and has far better food and staff who do not treat the customers like dirt.

I recommend the Barton Street, Fennel Ave. or the Main Street West locations. Better food and far far far better Staff.

My daughter and myself went to this Wimpy's and there was a horrible experience. I ordered the all you can eat fish and chips and that very quickly turned into only a couple pieces of fish and a lousy amount of fries with one reorder of an extra little piece of fish. Now I understand that I can only eat so much but when you order all you can eat that means more than one lousy piece of extra fish. Like I'm saying there wasn't even any fries on the second plate it was just a lousy piece of fish on an empty plate and then the man next to me ordered the same thing and his experience was completely different his plates were nice and full they were separated properly not just all thrown onto a plate on top of each other. And the guy had like triple the amount of fish. I tried to take home my leftover little half a piece of fish that was considered my all you can eat and this short little cocky waitress decided that she was going to be ignorant and refused to let me take my food out because instead they would rather just throw it in the trash. I've never had an experience like this at a Wimpy's diner before I will never return to this location I am disgusted and the waitress was extremely...
