McDonald's — Restaurant in Jasper Place

I've been to this McDonald's a few times over the last decade. My visits were few and far between because the service is bad every time! Each time I visited I hoped that service would have improved since the previous visit but NO. FYI I am not one to ever be mean or rude to food service workers even when they can't crack a smile. The older female workers here are usually not nice. They seem to hate their job. I wonder if they've had the same staff in the last 10 years. They speak Tagalog all the time and as they chat they would sometimes glance sideways at their customers and then snicker or make faces so yeah, like another review said, they probably talk smack about their customers and not quietly too! I've observed this inexcusable behavior several times over the last few years. One time there was this young boy who was training and he was asking the manager a question. The manager was so rude and mean to him! Her behaviour was so unbecoming of a manager. I felt bad for the boy. Because sitting in the restaurant was usually unpleasant, I started using their drive-through. One time a couple of months ago at the drive-through, I ordered a Mcmuffin sandwich. The one half of the English muffin was burnt black! I was miles away before I opened the bag and saw the burnt English muffin😡 Another time maybe last month, I ordered 2 apple juice with our meals at the drive-through and got home to find that they poured me the dregs of their apple juice! The juice was dark brown, cloudy, thick and disgusting!!! I was so mad but was too tired to drive back to get an exchange 😡😡😡. Some things never change. Honestly, "dine" is not a word I can use to describe when going to McDonald's. Whatever ingredients they combine then name it some Mcname, is only to fill an empty stomach. I rarely, if ever, eat McDonald's, or McPukes as we called it back when we were children. I like the coffee sometimes and the cranberry muffin tastes good. The coffee is what the original Tim Hortons coffee was. The McDonald's corporation slipped in and bought, in hopes of harming their competition, Tim Hortons. The Grease ball meat-like products are mostly filler and really shouldn't be put into a human body. Today was the first time I've eaten any food from McDonald's in 4 years, I permitted myself to eat an egg McMuffin, no cheese, dry, and only because it was beside the medical clinic. Not having eaten for 24 hours, I needed calories. As a Health Coach and Personal Fitness Trainer and Nutritionist, I avoid eating anything from McDonald's and most fast foods. The soft drinks are anything but soft on the human body and are extremely high in sugar content. The diet drinks are equally if not worse for you. Seeing parents allowing their children to drink pop is akin to poisoning. Eating the products they call food is terrible for children. Feeling bad for not poisoning your children and yourself is irrational. I'm sure the billion dollar companies have all kinds of scientists on their payroll who will tell you there is nothing harmful. I am not impressed with the service I recieved today. Bought a Candy Cane Fudge McFlurry with extra pieces of CC and extra fudge on the way to work. Was expecting something nice and sweet to tide me over, but all I got was a real sour experience. I should have just cancelled my order when I heard one of the workers say that they ran out of hot fudge. Maybe one of them could have let me know and I could have had the option, too. Anyway, it turned out they found some. Well, the presentation definitely left something to be desired, much like the service, which was nothing to write home about. There was not that many candy cane pieces whatsoever and the fudge was similarly not really notable. It looked rather slapdash to me. I get that it never looks like it does on the ads, but they didn't even fill the cup to the rim. Still, not liking the idea of wasting food and not able to go back to ask for a refund due to having to catch a bus, I decided to eat it, but not that long into doing so, I found a strand of hair that was definitely not my own, as I had a hat on that covers my entire head, let alone my hair.
