Spotstar Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Kawartha Lakes

Lady was working by herself. They were out of several things we wanted to order (including noodles). We ordered some food and paid, the lady did not say how long though we asked. Other people came and went, and then she announced that she would cook our food. She said she would have to cook it from scratch (including rice) as they were 'out'.

Long story short, we got food 45 minutes after ordering. What was supposed to be a red chicken curry was in a very thin red sauce, and what was supposed to be a Chinese food chicken dish was in the same red sauce. We did get broccoli in the curry. The thai soup was OK but short on ingredients.

Overall, a disappointing food experience. The menu is too big for what the kitchen can do, it appears. While I was waiting, I heard the lady's son ordering a pizza on his phone. Pizza is one of their menu items.

This place may be good for burgs and fries and wings and roti, if you go stick to those things.

General Tao's Chicken was not great and super expensive! You would expect being a "small business" they would have at LEAST, grocery store level of quality, but the chicken was chewy, tasted processed, and had inconsistent textures. Especially for 22$!!! I have had better quality chicken for half the price!! The breading on the chicken was super soggy and most certainly not “crispy.” I think overall, the quality of ingredients needs to be improved. This is my favourite restaurant to grab a bite when I need something quick and delicious. The food is very well priced. Their wings are probably better than just about anything at other bars and restaurants I've tried in Lindsay and a lot less $! Their chicken (or vegetable) roti is a great meal in itself for about $12. I love their chicken chow mein, and their home made samosas and spring rolls are fantastic. This is a very under appreciated take out restaurant in Lindsay. I really appreciate what they offer and get food there regularly. It's one of my 3 favourite places to...
