Today august 21st, my friends decided after a day of shopping, to stop at Chachis for a sandwich. One of us hasn't tried it before and was excited to. Once we got our sandwiches we sat down and opened the container to see each one littered with mold. We of course brought them back and had them remade. We also didn't get an apology for the potential food poisoning. While we were waiting for ours, the group after us also came back with theirs also covered in mold. That's 5 sandwiches in 5 minutes, not including the other two orders that were sent out in between. When I asked "how often do you check your inventory for expiration dates" the response I got was "we took these buns out of a different bag." When I asked again, she said "they expire on the 24th of august" again not answering my question. The I asked about FIFO, a system that is taught first day, first hour of working in any kitchen, and her response was still beating around the bush. My concern is what other items, if casually checked, would have mold. Definitely a system that needs to...
Read moreA friend and I decided to stop for lunch here and I was really excited. I had the Philly cheesesteak and when she was finishing it up I asked her if she could throw some shredded lettuce on top as I just realized I didn’t have any and I thought it could use some thing refreshing. I was really disappointed when she said that she can’t do that because she’d have to charge me for some lettuce and then I kind of looked at her and said OK and then she didn’t offer to charge me an edit she just wrapped up my sandwich and gave it to me. The sandwich was OK and it was actually quite messy and had a lot of fat dripping off it. I was disappointed for how expensive it was and that they could just throw on some lettuce. I don’t like when a places nickel and dime customers. I totally understand that they need to make money and I agree that somethings should cost collect extra.. but an ounce of iceberg lettuce...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by the menu choices, the quality of the ingredients and the speed and friendliness of the staff. Had lunch here (during the lunch rush) and there was a short wait for the sandwich, which was to be expected as it was made fresh to order. Had the Chicken Banh Mi Vietnamese-style sandwich and was impressed with the flavors and quality - although not a traditional Banh Mi sandwich, it was very tasty and unique and clearly made fresh with fresh ingredients. Its nice to have a food-court selection that offers "real" ingredients that you can actually identify the items in your meal rather than the bulk of the choices that are heavy processed and unidentifiable. I would definitely return to try another sandwich at Chachi's in Orchard Park and would...
