I have visited the Mission locations on several occasions and have had primarily negative experiences. Some of them include: ordering brunch...avocado toast, a taco bowl and a small mix and match breakfast for my two year old. This order took 55 minutes to show up and once my daughters order showed up it was all but correct. I asked if I was able to get the scrambled eggs I had ordered rather than the poached eggs (garlic toast and guacamole that I also hadnt ordered) and the server quickly and frantically responded `the kitchen is just too busy. The remedy was to take 20% off of the bill of either incorrect or taco-time esque orders off of our bill. Additionally, the manager on duty casually replied well, all of our food takes at least thirty minutes`` when I made mention.
Another experience includes me attending with my kids and my mom (I was excited to show her the new local hot spot). In this scenario it made most sense for us to move to a booth (two were available) and the server simply stated that she cannot move us there as they reserve the booths for parties of five or more. Less than five minutes later, three middle aged men were seated in the booth.
On a third visit- I ordered a Moscow Mule. The first drink that was brought to me tasted like club soda and vodka so I asked for a remake anticipating that perhaps there was a misunderstanding. The second time, the drink was made with gingerale rather than ginger beer. When I asked the server about it, she alluded to the fact that the bartender might not know what was in it and that I should order something else if I wasn`t satisfied.
Personally, this spot has a high failure rate and I am very disappointed. This place holds nostalgia and convenience and my hope was that it can be a local and walkable hot spot; I sincerely do not believe the owners know the lack of service and care- both from my own experience and from other stories that have been shared with me. The environment is second to none as far as location and the yard, but I would not recommend this restaurant for anything other...
Read moreHonestly, I have to convince my husband not to order Panago and instead order Dunn Enzies (vegan options and wait times). Their pizza is great BUT they take FOREVER to deliver. For comparison sake, Panago quotes 45 mins, but delivers to our house in 15-20. Dunn Enzies quotes 1 hour, and delivers in 90 mins. Today, we decided we were on the ball and ordered at 5:30pm knowing that it would be a long while, but ok with that. I am vegan, my husband is not. And I am VERY ALLERGIC to dairy. We ordered our pizzas (clearly stating the vegan one - NO DAIRY) and were quoted one hour (as expected). It arrived actually on time at 60 mins. But my pizza was covered in real cheese. I had to call 7 times with no answer, then contacted the downtown location just to have someone pickup the phone, who proceeded to tell me that they couldn’t help and would transfer me back to Landmark. After 6.5 mins on hold, Brandon came on the phone and asked if I could HOLD longer. Then he accidentally didn’t put me on hold so I heard him chit chat with the kitchen for a few mins before picking back up my phone call. He did have good phone etiquette, but then told me it would be another 1 hour 15 mins to receive my next pizza. Sooooo it’s your fault, but it’s gunna take me 2.5 hours to get a correct pizza to my door?? And there’s no contact email or head office to call, or I wouldn’t even be posting on google reviews. This has not been our first poor experience, but usually we prepare ourselves and order when we feel we have the patience. But it is sincerely disappointing to have to wait 2.5 hours for a pizza (oh and my pizza is modified since they told me they were out of one of the main ingredients). So frustrated. Want to love it, but time and time again, are broken hearted by poor service and crazy long...
Read moreAbout a year ago, we had friends coming in to town from Victoria. We'd heard DunnEnzies was great pizza, so we gave it a try, ordering pizzas to go from the downtown location. The pizza was very tasty, but partially burnt! We were told we have a free pizza the next time we order from downtown.
Just the other day (Saturday), the same friends came into town, and we decided to order pizza. We went online and noticed DunnEnzies had a opened a location closer to us (Landmark - Dayton St.). So, we called there to order. The staff member was unable to take our credit card over the phone ("It is possible", he said, "but I don't know how"). This was unfortunate, as we'd hoped to be able to pay that was as our friends were picking it up en route to our house - but we didn't want them to pay. So that was too bad. We also did not receive a proper receipt, so I had to make a trip down to pick up a receipt for our records, which was a hassle.
Anyway, when we opened up the 3 pizzas, we were dismayed to discover they were partially burnt AGAIN! We have ordered pizza from several establishments in both Victoria and Kelowna over the past 20 years and NEVER had burnt pizzas. Did the employee not check the product before boxing it up, or did they hope we wouldn't notice? We did speak to an employee, who apologized and offered 25% off our next order, but we still do not feel happy about spending close to $70.00 on partially-burnt pizzas.
I do love DunnEnzies pizza and the many interesting, unique, and delicious varieties they offer (with hilarious, awesome names, like Bob and Doug, or Ma-cheese-mo); however, the service and product were substandard. The next time I order pizza, I will think twice about...
