Tucked away behind Kelowna City Hall, Kasugai Gardens is a hidden gem that offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. This beautifully maintained Japanese-style garden features traditional elements like stone lanterns, pine trees, a tranquil waterfall, and a koi pond . The harmonious blend of nature and design creates a calming atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation and reflection.

I was particularly impressed by the meticulous landscaping and the sense of tranquility that envelops you as you stroll through the pathways. It’s an ideal spot for a quiet lunch, meditation, or simply to appreciate the beauty of nature. Admission is free, making it accessible for everyone to enjoy .

If you’re in downtown Kelowna and looking for a serene escape, I highly recommend visiting Kasugai Gardens. It’s a testament to the city’s connection with its sister city, Kasugai, Japan, and a beautiful example of...

Loved this little garden. A bit of background info: it's a gift to the city from its sister city in Japan in order to establish the good relations and overall friendship between the two nations. It is a gorgeous piece of Japan within Kelowna, a little piece of heaven. It's a quiet place meant for meditation and contemplation. It has a soft stream which leads to a larger pond with koi (the colorful Japanese fish) surrounded by a very specific array of trees, stones, and Japanese elements meant to find the balance among us and nature. But don't feed the koi, they'll get sick and everything will go to hell... other than that, have fun!! It's a great place to hang out...

Beautiful gated Japanese garden, tucked away in downtown, amidst the parking lot on one side, buildings on the other and a bus stop and an intersection right in front. One can reclaim ones sanity from the humdrums of day today life by just being here for a brief five / ten minutes before you go back to your daily business. It’s small but cathartic; has rockery, a bridge over the water, waterfalls ( man made) beautifully flowering plants, shrubs and trees- all tamed and planted in the famous Japanese style. Four stars because the water could be cleaner and more maintained however the set up does not fail to uplift you

A small Japanese garden commemorating the friendship between Kasugai and Kelowna situated in the cultural district of downtown Kelowna. You can stroll through in about 20-30 minutes and there are some nice flowers to look at (on a hot summer's day in August, they appear a bit dried up). The koi are nice to look at as well. You can still see the surrounding buildings so you don't have the feeling that you've completely escaped and would be difficult to feel as if you are immersed in the garden, in contrast to other Japanese gardens (such as Nikka Yuko in Lethbridge, AB).
