We had the Hector special & the Taco Platter. We tried the fried churros and we also had the salsa, For starters the salsa was extremely bland. There wasn’t very many fresh herbs in it or salt or pepper, it didn’t really have much traditional flavours happening. Hector special was on point. I was hoping that there would’ve been some rice in that dish to soak up all of the moisture on my plate, but overall that dish was absolutely amazing… The pineapple margarita, definitely refreshing and tasty but needed to be settled for a little while. There was so much foam in the half of jug we essentially got two drinks out of the jug for $32.00. The Margarita was extremely refreshing, but we could not enjoy it with all the foam on top and it really was not worth $32 for two drinks with tons of foam. The Churros that we had were absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend that Maybe they should put chocolate sauce and whipped cream or some kind of caramel sauce on the plate for people who are not chocolate lovers otherwise they were perfect. Our server was amazing when she was there, We had a lot of downtime and alone time at our table, and no recommendations for any of the food considering we travelled 12 hours out of province to be there.

I live in Calgary but i came to Kelowna with my family for a few days for a vacation. We’ve been here before and we enjoyed it very much. This was our second time here and the food was incredible! We got several dishes to share so we could have more than one thing for the four of us. We got the salsa, ceviche and guacamole with chips as a couple of appetizers. We got the nachos as well, which came in a tremendous amount and we definitely got our moneys worth. For our entrees we got the fish tacos, the green enchiladas and four pork tacos, all of which exceeded our expectations. Aside from the food the atmosphere was very cozy and family oriented. It’s not a big place, which I enjoy but the decorations definitely feel very welcoming. The service was also excellent. Everyone was very kind and attentive. Our water glasses were constantly full. All in all this was an amazing experience and I wish to come back again.

A real gem. Quaint Mexican restaurant with great outdoor patio in the back so not having to listen to the traffic on Pandosy. Dined for lunch early September. Service was efficient and friendly. Immediately welcomed us with a serving of homemade salsa and chips. Ordered chicken burritos and chicken chimichangas. Both plates had decent portions for the cost. Big pieces of real chicken breast. The taste was amazing! Especially loved the guacamole. It’s a must try. Unfortunately no room for dessert but will return for another visit next time we are in Kelowna. Washrooms were nice and clean.

We were guests of a Kelowna summer resident who had fond memories of the food here. Unfortunately, something has drastically changed. Our waitress was lovely & accommodating. However, the food was woefully overpriced for the poor quality & small portions provided. I’m not crazy about any Mexican restaurant charging for tortilla chips & salsa, but charging $9.95 for a bit of pico de gallo & 20 chips is highway robbery. When we mentioned it to our waitress she kindly brought us more tortilla chips. The main courses we chose, average price $27, were barely worth half that charge! Two people ordered fajitas which came with very little meat & mostly all green peppers. One guest asked for her fajitas with no onions & the waitress came back to say that the veggies were premixed-that should have been our first clue. One person got Taco Ranchero which barely came with any chicken & only iceberg lettuce. Next came Hector’s Special-the tiniest portions of the 4 selections & mysteriously everything was soggy. I ordered chiles rellenos & they were watery & subpar. On a positive note, the refried beans & rice were tasty. We asked if there was a manager or supervisor to speak to & we were told there wasn’t, just a senior waitress. That young woman was so kind & completely frazzled. Obviously something was very wrong in the kitchen. I was told that this has been happening often. Another waitress(?) inexplicably approached us to hear about our experience. We were told that some of the ingredients are pre-packaged & other items are frozen. Then someone claiming to be the owner came to speak to us-she definitely wanted to argue about our experience. She wondered why we didn’t send the food back! Why would we do that when all 4 entrees were poorly prepared?! When I told her about the various remarks made to us, she demanded to know who said these comments & that the employees were lying! I refused & she said twice that there were cameras everywhere & she could look at the footage-creepy. After initially being told that the meals were free by one of the first people we complained to, we told the “owner” that we were willing to pay for half the total bill. Her response was that she was going to talk to the kitchen staff. At that point, we demanded she provide the bill to us. It felt like we were being held hostage & it had been half an hour since our first complaint. We personally gave our sweet waitress a very good tip on our way out. It definitely feels like the restaurant’s closing is imminent. The “owner” needs to polish her customer service skills & specifically dealing with complaints! I wouldn’t waste your money or an...

If I have to sum up Hector's Casa in one word unfortunately I would have to say "Cheap". I have been going to Hector's casa for the past 10 or so years and it's always been one of my top picks for fun places to eat with great food in Kelowna. Sadly I have to say I can no longer recommend Hector's Casa after the recent change in ownership. I used to absolutely love every bit of this place from the food to the atmosphere. I would have easily given 5 stars to the previous owners as this used to be in my top 5 restaurants in town.

The menu is basic and has no unique new dishes as you'd think there would be with a new owner at the helm. Every single item on the menu is now ridiculously overpriced for the measly portion sizes they give you now. Hector's Casa used to be one of my favorite date night restaurants for it's good portions and relatively inexpensive items but alas that is no more.

Every aspect of the business now eerily feels like a cheap cash grab, for example, you no longer get a basket of chips and salsa with your meal, instead you get a quarter basket of chips with the salsa bowl taking up most of the space. It may seam like a little thing, but it's just one thing in a long line of changes that have been made that just ruin the reputation that was built up by the previous entrepreneurs.

With bland food made from dirt cheap ingredients and all around seaming like the restaurant is cutting on everything just to make a quick buck, I am extremely sad to say that I won't be going back to Hector's Casa...

This is the first time we had been here but had been to the one in Mission on Lakeshore and it was really great food and service.

We had a reservation and we sat down right away. There were two other tables in the place when we got there. This is when the waiting started. We waited a long time for everything. For water, for them to come take order, for them to bring first drink etc etc etc. At no point was the service "on time."

They seemed to be doing quite a bit of take out but not so much that should hurt the service this much. The beer was nice and cold in a frosted glass. My wife's margarita was in a larger rock glass and was okay. I ordered a second beer as the first one was super cold in a frosty glass which was great. The second beer finally arrived and the server said, "Sorry this too so long but we ran out of lager and only had enough for half the beer so we filled the other half up with some Dos Equis." I said, "really?" as she walked away. I should have sent it back of course but by this time I thought I will never get another beer and was thirsty and drank it. I probably wouldn't have noticed if she hadn't said anything.

Chips and salsa were average. Chips weren't really warm but got a good amount. Salsa lacked flavor and was very watery. (3/4" of water in bottom of onion soup type dish when salsa was gone) Entrees arrived and were both delicious. Very tasty. Could have been hotter but not enough to complain.

Tipped 10% as the food was great....
