Reply to the management: I wanted to rate you guys 3.5 but there was no option hence 3 with all of the things mentioned. There were a few things missing from my plate plus the small details that could have been taken care of, like the tea, you could have just offered or atleast inform and the service being super slow. Making the customer wait for 30-40 mins each time is not right. Am I not fair enough with all of the above?
It was my first time at this place, tried a few items like Chicken Shawarma Platter with combo which comes with fries and a drink, Falafel Platter, etc. Falafel were so good, freshly made and perfectly done but unfortunately I think it had garlic potatoes and vine leaves missing which is mentioned in their menu 🤔😔 Chicken Shawarma Platter was good but lacked chicken. Chicken Shawarma wrap was ok and they made and forgot to serve so it had gone a bit soggy and cold, it also had fries as stuffing which shouldn't be the case in my opinion. I also ordered lamb bites as a side order which I wouldn't recommend. It wasn't completely tender, was 10% chewy plus it lacked flavors. I liked the fact that they have black tea ready and hot at all the times which tasted dang good but its a complimentary tea which should be offered or served on the table but no one did. As it was our first time at the restaurant, we didnt know about it until we saw another table pouring the tea so we got it too because we were hungry and was served after 30-40 mins. They got us a complimentary eggplant in a bowl to try as we wanted to try another eggplant dish which they were out of. Staff is very humble and good but the service is very slow. We waited for 30 minutes for our 1st order and the same with our 2nd order as they forgot about it. Restaurant is newly opened and they are still coping with it so I understand the delay. Place is spacious, nice and clean and the food is worth...

I recently visited Kayan for a true Mediterranean culinary experience, and it did not disappoint! I started with their signature dishes like shawarma, falafel, and hummus – all prepared fresh and bursting with flavor. The grape leaves stuffed with rice were simply divine, offering a perfect balance of tenderness and zest.
The highlight for me was the lamb bites and chunks – incredibly tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. If you're a fan of lamb, this is a must-try! I also enjoyed the chicken bites and kababs, which were grilled to perfection.
What sets Kayan apart, besides the delicious food, is the outstanding service. The staff takes customer requests very seriously, making sure every detail is perfect. The prices are more than reasonable, especially for the quality of food and service provided.
The menu at Kayan offers a variety of Mediterranean food along with a delightful selection of Oriental sweets. On weekends, they offer special Yemeni dishes, and I highly recommend trying the Muzabi – it's a real treat! On Thursdays, they serve a special Egyptian cuisine (be sure to pre-order since these dishes are available in limited quantities and sell out fast!).
The restaurant itself is very clean, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. For anyone looking for an authentic Mediterranean dining experience with a blend of Yemeni and Egyptian flavors, Kayan should be at the top...
Read moreI would recommend to not to visit this establishment. The website and the menu on the screens inside the restaurant are not an accurate representation of their food. On the website, the tawouk plate shows 2 chicken skewers. It even says it on there. For $17.99. Now I have seen another review saying that they are mistaken, but believe me, they are not. We were given 1 skewer in each plate!!!! What scam is this?? Anyway i took the plates to the front counter and asked why does this look nothing like their menu. The guy said, its supposed to come with only 1 skewer. I pointed out the menu to him saying that it says 2 skewers and even the menu in their restaurant shows 2 skewers. Thats when another guy told him to add the 2 additional skewers to the plates we ordered. We were on our way back to vancouver and i wanted to try their kebabs. We were pretty hungry and were not in the mood to argue and get a refund so we asked them to give the extra skewers. The guy said that they are in the process of updating their menu. Imagine paying$18 plus TIPS to get half of what you were made to believe that you ordered. Cant blame the staff as they are not the decision makers. Service was good. But management is to be blamed. But at least the skewer tasted good. And we got the additional skewers thanks to the other guys advice. All in all, not a...
