Zabb Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Kelowna

Popped in tonight for a nice dinner. The food was fantastic (only tiny remark is the Peanut Beef was definitely too salty but no biggie!)

But I wanted to mention how well the server Sam handled herself when a slightly unhinged woman came in to pick up a take out order without a name or phone number. Sam wouldn't give her any food without a name and phone number (which is a good business practice because people could be walking off with other orders). She got very flustered and kept saying how she couldn't remember the name of the person who ordered the food and it was embarrassing to ask. She finally went out to the van to get a phone number but wouldn't give a name. Sam stood her ground and said no name no food.

After some back and forth, the lady who ordered the food came in and was angry they wouldn't give the other lady the food. Sam calmly explained the original lady didn't know her name. The lady got mad saying obviously she knew her name. The original lady came in and swore very loudly at Sam. Sam kept a very calm and pleasant demeanor throughout the entire episode.

If the original lady is reading this, the name of the lady whose food order you were trying to pick up...

Was looking for some high rated Asian cuisine near Kelowna and saw that it has a 4.5 star review.

I'll be honest and say we were disappointed with what we got. There was no one dining in it and should have given us flags about its high rating. Nonetheless our party gave it a try with the Dinner for 4 and were met with the beef dish offering really chewy and tough meat. The other items were on par and did not deliver any wow factor for additional points.

The servers were chatting most of the time before they asked how our meal was. We informed them to see if the beef was supposed to taste like that and waited a while for reply from the chef when we almost finished everything on our table.

The female chef asked about it and offered to make another one of we wanted. Seeing as we do not want to take advantage of another free dish but offer genuine feedback, we declined the remake. The chef apologized and stated that normally the beef should not be that tough.

Sadly based on this dining experience and the rating I see on Google giving us high hopes...it is a low 3 to be polite and give them the opportunity to improve and grow compared to giving...

The food was excellent. I ordered the green curry, and made sure to specify no dairy and NO peanuts. The staff got my order wrong the first time around and had to remake it, but they did so before it even hit the table, and remade it from scratch, so I wasn't exposed to any allergens. They were really very sorry for the wait, and for messing it up in the first place, but I was there with a rather large party, so I wasn't really put out by it.

They did mess up on a couple other orders as well, though, and while they corrected those as well, I couldn't reasonably give them a five star rating.

The food was very well priced (as others have said I think nearly everything was $12 or less) and the appetizer I ordered was huge. It could almost have been a meal on its own. So I recommend sharing the appetizers if you order them.

The photos attached don't do real justice to the presentation of the food, as I'd already started eating before I remembered to take pics.

Overall a very enjoyable experience....
