Ramen Arashi in Kelowna has been my go-to spot for over a year now, and it's easy to see why. From the moment you arrive, it's clear this place is popular. There's often a small line outside, so patience is key, but trust me, it's worth the wait. For those short on time, takeout is always an option, as the cozy seating inside fills up quickly.
The atmosphere transports you from Kelowna to what feels like a ramen house in downtown Vancouver. The staff are impeccably dressed and provide attentive, professional service. But the real highlight here is the ramen. Having sampled ramen at over 50 restaurants throughout my life, I can confidently say the quality at Ramen Arashi is unmatched. The meticulous attention to detail in their open kitchen is remarkable. Every bowl is carefully crafted, and the presentation is always flawless.
The broth is a masterpiece—if I could, I'd bottle it up and keep it in my fridge at all times. Rich, flavorful, and comforting, it's easily one of the best I've ever had. The ingredients are fresh, perfectly cooked, and balanced to perfection. It reminds me of the authentic ramen houses in Japan, where each bowl tells a story of tradition and passion.

Read moreThis is hands down the best ramen I have had in Kelowna, although the competition is not exactly fierce. Ramen Arashi has become a staple for my friends and I. Located in the heart of Kelowna, it is close to basically everything and is a serving up piping hot bowls of delicious and authentic ramen.
Having spent considerable time in Japan and tried countless bowls of ramen, I am pleasantly surprised at how well Arashi stacks up. They offer a wide variety of different bowls, including a TRULY spicy option, which is always appreciated. I usually go for the Spicy Tonkotsu, but you may want to try their signature Black Ramen.
Their appetizers are also extremely good. I cannot leave without having the Spicy Chicken Karaage paired with Takoyaki. Absolutely delicious.
Only thing I can fault them on is their prices. You will be spending upwards of $16 on a bowl of Ramen, which is a little steep in my opinion. The appetizers are far more reasonably priced, I just wish the Ramen was as well.
The space itself is also quite small, with much of the seating being bar-style. So you’ll probably want to make a reservation if you are going around lunch or dinner. Not ideal for large groups, but there is...

I recently visited Ramen Arashi and had the pleasure of trying their Shoyu Ramen. The broth was exceptional—rich in umami with a perfect balance of savory soy that coated each bite of the noodles beautifully. The noodles themselves had just the right amount of chew, elevating the entire dish.
However, I found the portion of meat to be a bit underwhelming. The tonkotsu slice was thin and lacked the heartiness I’d expect, that I guess needs to be balanced with price given how expensive things are these days... A more generous portion would have gone a long way in rounding out the dish.
On the upside, the service was fantastic—the staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to respond to requests. The ambiance was another highlight, with a cozy yet modern setting that made for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.
Overall, while the flavors at Ramen Arashi are impressive, a slightly larger serving, particularly when it comes to the toppings, would make this spot a standout in every way. I'll definitely return to try more from their menu and hope to see some more generous portions...
